Im bored, heres some reviews, as im rather confused about the cds I got today....... Also because whenever I post about the crap I buy, people always go "let me know what you think of such and such" and I go "no problem" and then I dont.... So.....

Halford - Crucible: I dont understand this one, its downtuned to like Z and is really really slow..... Every song kinda sounds like the next. I dont think I like this
It sounds like a numetal album, and the production is muddy as hell, I dont know what Roy did, he usually has awesome production on the albums he works on. This was really not what I was expecting!

Fear Factory - SOANM: This is another one I dont get, the lyrics are AWFUL, Burton is just doing this growly voice the whole time, but not a good growly voice, just a "look I can growl" voice..... He turned into a MUCH better vocalist later on (IMHO anyways :) )
For the LIFE of me I cannot understand how anyone could possibly like the first 2 FF albums over Obselete and Digimortal, and I seem to be the only person who doesnt get it, its really strange. Demanufacture has its moments though, ill admit. Its almost like its 2 different bands, oh well, no dramas, I still got 2 classic albums out of them :D
Just out of curiosity, how many people here havent heard Digimortal?

Sentenced - The Cold White Light: A nice mid paced album, sorta poppy tinged metal, not too bad overall, this one could grow on me :D

Yngwie - Inspirations: I cant believe I bought a whole album for a great song I already fucking had. That is all  :D

The S.O.D. dvd: This wont work on my machine because its a different region disc that ISNT LABELED THAT. Bastardos!

Im also watching the Ozzy live dvd, let me say this: Zakk could tear any guitar player in the rock world a new ass, the guy doesnt even look at the fretboard when he is playing!

God, you go on about Digimortal so much one would think you had a personal stake in it and wanted everyone to buy a copy! :)

And yes, Zakk rocks.

Zakk can just kiss my ass! He hasn't got any talent. I swear I could name like 100 better guitar players. Just because he can play without looking at the fretboard, thats not hard when you aren't really playing anything.

Lets just start a list who can play more complicated stuff without looking at the frets:
Vai
Satch
Petrucci
Morse
MacAlpine
Brett Garsed
Frank Gambale

should I continue?

Spawny, I've told you countless times that I own it :) Had a listen the other day, actually, but it didn't do much for me.

And Zakk rules! I'm glad you didn't mention Michael Romeo though, Seventh - that pompous pirate shirt-wearing fatty really annoys me!

oh, and Spawny, I don't understand how someone who praises 'Obsolete' so much can think so little of 'Demanufacture'. They aren't that far apart, but 'Demanufacture' is just full of better material. 'Obsolete' almost sounds like they are just trying to replicate (geddit?...) 'Demanufacture' and hit the same chord that made them a great album last time. 'Obsolete' has some great tracks, but the best ones could have almost come straight from 'Demanufacture' in my opinion. 'Demanufacture' is much more consistant throughout.

Sorry to rant on, but I am bored, and had a point to make. :)

I'd write a review but it would take too long to cover everything.

I can't wait for the new album (part 2) It'll rock!
Just a side note: I should have Explorer's Club 2 and the new Magellan in my sweaty little hands this week, and a review willl be coming for both

POS were actually pretty good! Nice and heavy (for prog anyway ;) ) I think I might check out some more of them!

Spiffy, why do I keep forgetting you own Digimortal?

Seventh, all those guys you mentioned dont ROCK dammit, when Zakks on stage you KNOW you are at a concert ;)

Blitzy, I like Demanufacture, its not like I despise the album or anything, but I think Obselete is much better, Self Bias Resistor is my favourite trak on Demanufacture, it rocks :D

I'm not going near Explorers Club 2 with a ten foot pole. I couldn't stand the first one which really is a shame considering the amount of talent on it.

Spawny, if you see morse on stage you know that you are at more than just a concert.

Spiff, I'm not really looking forward to it either, but I want to here the new Magellan, its got Ian Anderson (from Jethro Tull) on it, and the samples sound good

Ian Anderson is the flippin' MAN! I haven't listened to any Tull in ages, must do so. I bought that cigar-box thingie they brought out a few years ago, one of the best purchases I've ever made! :headbang:
