Sort of new To Metal!

i always listened to a little metal, just mainstream stuff really but now im more into it and im looking for Bands and Albums to hear, im 16 and im about to go to my first ever Metal show with In Flames / Nevermore / evergrey

I need some recommendations for what albums to look for, as long as their good i been looking into stuff based off boards i just want an organized thread to help me out.

My advice is try to explore the more extreme genres of metal like Death and Black. I know more about death metal so I'll give a few good bands to start with:

Hypocrisy - Abducted
Amon Amarth - Fate of Norns
Kataklysm - In the Arms of Devastation

Many people on this board like Doom metal, so I'm sure you'll get some good recomendations for that genre.

drop the nu-metal

Maybe try some thrash like Kreator (Enemy of God/ Violent revolution first), Destruction (any), Sodom (any) and maybe Overkill (Killbox 13 or Under The Influence). Maybe even Megadeth since you like Metallica.

If you want to get into death, maybe try with some more melodic ones first; Arch Enemy & In Flames (which you already seem to like), then move onto the bigger names in death like Carcass, Vader, Hypocrisy and of course Death etc

The chasm - Deathcult For Eternity: The Triumph (although I like pretty much all they've done)
Cirith Ungol - King of the Dead (just for the song Master of the pit I think it's worth it )
Massacra - Final Holocaust; Enjoy the violence (both really good albums)
Coroner - Punishment for Decadence
Lord Weird Slough Feg - everything
Manilla Road - Open the Gates, Crystal Logic
Sabbat (both the Uk and Japan one, although I prefer the japanese ones)
Dismember - Like an Ever Flowing Steam ( never cared for anything else they've done)

Don't know if you'd like everything in there but I think you should at least give it a try.
