Sounds like Kalmah?

I've got a habit of classifying Kalmah under the likes of these bands:

Children of Bodom
Norther
Skyfire
Immortal Souls
Imperanon
Dark Tranquillity

Perhaps i'm wrong, but is there other bands relatively sounds close to Kalmah?

Could you ppl stop mentioning freakin COB!! You can never compare Kalmah to anyone else, there's only one Antti Kokko (as far as I know ;p~) and only one P. Kokko, so Kalmah is Kalmah and that's that to me ~

Of course Kalmah is better than COB... what i'm looking for is not comparisons on which is good...

I agree that you could classify Kalmah along with those other bands, but that is just labeling for the sake of labeling.

I like what people are saying in this thread: Kalmah is Kalmah. Or, if you will, Swamp Metal. In my experience there is no band out there that sounds even close. By contrast, look at Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium. Insomnium is basically a DT clone. That's not a bad thing though - I wouldn't mind hearing a Kalmah clone someday because the more great music, the better; but as I said, so far no band comes close.

Especially CoB and Norther.. I don't understand those comparisons to Kalmah.

Kalmah doesn't share anything with COB or with ETOS or anyone else in this category, except the fact that they are all metal and all melodic. So, it's pointless to have threads like this.

P.S. and yeah - all three of them also use keyboards. That's where similarities end.
