i think the film isn`t that bad .
Although the first half was very boring:too much story

only the action parts and the scene where anakin laments over slaughtering the raiders made the movie redeemable

thanks, Caeros. Someone else finally realizes what I've known for a long time. Star Wars has always been about the story, and Episode 2 had a great story. Some of the dialog wasn't so great, but the acting overall is actually on par with if not better than all of the other ones. For me, the movie served its purpose; it filled in a lot of holes, and it brought up some new questions to be answered in episode 3. There's quite a few things Lucas has to resolve in the next one, but I have no doubt he'll accomplish it.
I thought that it was a solid movie that continued the story that it was supposed to continue. The scenes between anakin and portman were boring, but ewen (obi one) saved the day with his scenes and acting; I think he makes so-so dialogue just sound better and play off better. Plus, yoda, the effects, and the atmosphere were done very well; I just hope the next up is much more darker like it should be.
To you it sucked, but not to all fans of film. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it has no merit. I don't go to Star Wars expecting critical excellence, I go expecting a fun, interesting story with loads of cool effects. Parts of the movie didn't work well, but overall it did what I expected from it.

Interesting point about the lame acting for all the Star Wars movies. I would happen to agree with this except for Harrison Ford.
