sounds pretty metal to me! o lot more controlled and smooth than most marshall tones, sounds a bit like a well adjusted valvestate to me :| don't get me wrong, it's not a bad sound, just not my taste. I think it lacks some balls, growling in the lowmid area and speaker movement. what volume did you record this at?

loud as shit. I pulled the master up until I could see the speaker move on "chuggas"
gain was on 1.5 (!)

holy shit! didn't expect any marshall to have that much gain!
don't get me wrong, I like the tone, but it seems very smooth for a marshall tone, guess it would be perfect for leads but for rhythm it could use a bit more character IMO.
is this channel 4?
in that case I would maybe try channel 3, perhaps that would saturate a bit less, and try to get a bit more mids in, and perhaps even louder?

I think the lows/low-mids could be tightened up a little. Otherwise, it sounds pretty good.

Pretty cool guitar tone, could maybe do with just a little more mids. Vocals and high hat are a bit too bright for my taste.

hmmm, I don't remember exactly what the first mix sounded like but this has something a bit unnatural to it, like there's some kind of filter over the guitars. do you have a few very narrow, deep cuts going on? or perhaps some stereo widening that's making them a bit phasy? I don't know... there's something not totally natural about them
and for the mix:
I'd try to get a bit less hats in there, more snare, less vocals and quite a lot more bass (let those mids growl!)
