HA ! I just remembered the strangest noise i heard in my life.
It was few years ago in the middle of a summer and at night and all the time from about 22:00 to maybe 05:00 very slowly changing location.
I couldn't sleep because of the noise, so i decided to take my dog for a walk and check what is it that makes the noise.
I found it more than a kilometer from where i live... it was a big road machine that removed old asphalt whole lane at a time grinding it to very small pieces.
IT WAS LOOOOOUUUUUUD !

The more developed is the world, the more cameras in hands of almost every citizen, the more such reports we will see.

The sound in the first clip at ~2:57 (post #1) is almost exactly like the sound of a road machine that removes ice in winter from asphalt. I don't know exactly what they are called but they make huge noise.
