This thread has been in Gs for a while, (http://www.gearslutz.com/board/phot...ion-projects/849945-studio-build-finland.html) but I remember reading similar threads here (and always found them very interesting) so I thought I'd post this here as well.

So, long story short me and my friend started to build a studio! I design, and we do all the work ourselves. So far it has been a lot of fun!

There's a lot more text at GS if someone is interested, figured I just post the pics here. If someone has any questions etc. they are greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately our construction is going to pause for a while, as my friend is going for interning into a movie shooting for 2 months and I'm going interning in a studio for 5 months, but the project will continue its progress right after that. ..And probably a bit during weekends.

Thank you guys, it means a lot!

I know.. :D But a good thing is that my mates dad and his employees shall continue the construction of the live room while we are here. As it looks now, we shall go back as the insulation is getting in and it is time for interior acoustic treatment. Every step of the control room shall be measured and adjusted accordingly, so I shall be present at those phases.

Dude, you didn't connect the walls to the floor, didn't you?
You should decouple the walls from flor with neoprene

In our case, there was absolutely no need for any decoupling from the floor. Actually, as it turns out, any floating structure that is not properly designed and constructed can actually WEAKEN isolation (and room acoustics) and quickly costs a great deal of money. So, as we determined our isolation needs, we saw that this construction will give us more than adequate soundproofing. Thank you for your input, though, we appreciate it!

Well, actually theres couple new photos for this thread:

Before we left, we started the live room framing and drywalling, shot of the lower end of the live room:
