Symphony X,where to start?

I personally like Twilight in Olympus the best. I can't choose which one I like better out of Divine Wings of Tragedy and V though. Communion and the Oracle ftw

Lol that is the worst one besides the s/t. Terrible production and weak songs.

Start with The Odyssey, proceed to Paradise Lost, mosey on over to V: The New Mythology Suite, then work your way through their discography as you see fit.

Yeah, probably the best idea here. Though starting with either PL, V, or DWot would be fine as well.

The Odyssey is meh.
Inferno (Unleash The Fire) is amazing, though...

You obviously only listened to one song.

I'm surprised to see so much love for Paradise Lost. I didn't care very much for that one actually. I would get their first two last & Paradise Lost 3rd from the last...

The production isn't that bad, though not as good as the later albums. As for the "weak" songs, I personally like all of the full length songs (all besides Sonata) better than anything off of Odyssey.

Edit: Meh I spoke too soon. Inferno, King of Terrors, and Odyssey are really good songs. Although, I still like Smoke & Mirrors and The Relic better than all 3.

Paradise Lost tends to be the most accessible IMO.

It's not any more accessible than The Odyssey

It takes a long time to get into fully. At first I thought it was definitely a weaker effort, but now I think it's up there with the big 4. The lack of a long epic song is annoying though

To each his own, but I think 99% of symx fans would agree that 1) it sounds like it was recorded in a toilet and 2) the songwriting is weaker than any of their other records (besides the s/t, that record is horrible)
