I'd say Canada dominated much of the game and not the entire. The US had a good start and did some nice things in this game. The thing was, when in survival mode, the US didn't totally collapse, take too many penalties etc like young teams can do. More importantly they had guys all over the ice blockin shots doing a lot of little things to win. Miller who was outstanding, wasn't the only reason. It was 5-3 not 1-0...someone had to put the puck in the net. Even if he was or will be the reason going forward?...I'm quite happy with that. Last I checked he is a vital part of the team and very capable of stealing games. You are thinking clearly however in Canada being alright going forward...I don't think this loss will kill them. Though the pressure is building on them now even more.

A gutsy win for the US and one that can only give them confidence going forward...no matter the manner in winning. If the US gets dusted in this game like I kinda feared...I think it could have easily shattered them?

HAHA....funny guy blocking shots...look at the shot totals...Brodeur has a terrible game...and the US is on top of the world right?...you guys got worked...and if it wasn't for Miller you absolutely lose this game. Ask any of the american players and they'll tell you all the same thing: they got away with a win. the 1st 10 mins of the game, we're yours after that total domination by the Canadians.

Whatever...Canada's confidence isn't even the least bit disgruntled...they will bounce back and they'll come at every team in there way. I bet my life it'll happen.

Let me put it this way. IF the Queen had nuts she'd be King! Seriously, when your Canadiens, a very average team at the time, won thier Stanley Cup completely carried and led by Patrick Roy. Its like the losing team saying "yeah but if it wasn't for Roy we would have won". Ya just can't throw that out there.

I know Canada isn't having the greatest of Olympics so far but the fans north of the border are getting a little delerious.:)

Wow...no shit Miller is on the team, you just keep denying the fact that Miller won you the game...you guys had 3 lucky goals. especially the 1st two. If wouldn't keep my hopes up if I we're you guys, as far as I'm concerned the Russians, Czech's & Slovaks are the dominant teams

I'm not denying Miller basically winning the game at all...in fact...kinda stated he did so. I don't give a shit how much a team gets out-played...if Miller or any goalie wants to steal games and get the opposing players to sqeeze the stick a little harder...I'm all for it baby! My hopes even after the US win are realistically limited...but I'm sure enjoying the shit out of this win!
 
It's not like Canada didn't have soft/lucky goals either. The first goal was a redirect, and the third was soft.

USA and Canada looked so much faster than Russia or Czech did earlier in the day. Neither of those teams are too scary to me, unless Nabokov catches fire. I'm not sure how the brackets will break down, but I think USA and Canada are the two best teams.
 
Nicklas Bäckström is a frustrating player to watch. The guy has equal talent to Ovechkin and Crosby but somehow seems pleased with being 4th-5th rather than #1.
 
Does anybody know if this game is going to be replayed on tv? I was out while it happened and didn't get to see it.
 
What happened to Finland is what I wonder, looked like a bunch of ghosts out there, none of the good ol' Finnish sisu left. But that's fine with me, Lundqvist is 100% after two games, booyah.

The Russians,Czech,and Slovaks are scary teams to face.I will agree that Miller won the game for us.Anyway USA!USA!USA!USA!.
 
Fuck, even if we lost yesterday that was an amazing match, czechs will propably win some medal tbh, that was fucking awesome.

I never said that we're the best. As far as I'm concerned...Brodeur had a terrible game 4 goals on 22 shots... 3 weak goals IMO...You guys got outshot big time...5 goals or not, like I said Miller won you the game. Anyone will tell you this, I don't care who scored your goals, no Miller no win.

I feel like Czechs are guaranteed a medal round, Finland looks really strange right now and hasn't impressed at all like the Czechs.

That's not a fucking point. Every game comes down to the goalie in some fashion.

None of those goals were Brodeur's fault. Every one of them was a deflection besides the empty netter (which was amazing). Chalk it up to poor defense? Luck? Maybe the big men should clear the crease a little better?

The only truly great shot was the last empty-net goal.
