THE 2010 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES

Also, as far as the shot total goes, a lot of that has to do with the way Brodeur plays, which limits rebound shots. I should know since I watch just about every Devils game. He almost always has low shot totals because of that, which is why his save percentage is slightly lower than, say, Hasek or something.

That's not a fucking point. Every game comes down to the goalie in some fashion.

None of those goals were Brodeur's fault. Every one of them was a deflection besides the empty netter (which was amazing). Chalk it up to poor defense? Luck? Maybe the big men should clear the crease a little better?

The only truly great shot was the last empty-net goal.

How is it not a point...at all the articles I've read from the game all they mention is goals from present New Jersey player Langenbrunner and former Brian Rafalski, Ryan Miller and Brodeur's questionable playing of the puck. Like you said the empty net goal was nice, which means the other 4 we're lucky ones.

Whatever...I wouldn't expect much from the US team anyways...They didn't impress me at all. The only guy who actually showed me something was Ryan Miller. Nothing spectacular from the players themselves.

Brodeur was trying to do way too much during the game. I only saw the 3rd period of the first game he played so I don't know if he was doing the same. His defense is a bunch of no-names/journeyman for the Devils so he needs to clear pucks every chance and poke check when he can. Obviously he doesn't need to do that with the group of all stars on the olympic roster. The second Rafalski goal was awful and Brodeur got out of position during the clusterfuck that lead to the Drury goal. If Canadians want to bitch about deflected shots going off skates well no goalie is going to stop those.

You didn't see the second goal did you...Rafalski comes in and he decides to fucking flop like a fish...Absolutely terrible game for him...I won't be surprised if Luongo is in nets Tuesday...then We kick the shit out of the Russians and then the rest is history :)

I shall have to congratulate Tre Kronor on the excellent whoopass this morning, or yesterday evening, or however you want to view it. Excellent game. Seems (hopefully) that the first to games were warm-ups. Let us not make any mistakes against Slovakia (for it's got to be them in the quarters).

It's fun how people can say "you only won because of your goalie". Isn't Miller both American and a legit part of the team then? If he did a great game then so what. I think some Canadians are just butthurt and desperate to find reasons of temporary extraordinarity to explain the oh so impossible thing that's happened.

I'm done arguing...but ask any sports commentator and they'll tell you Miller was the reason they won.

So I'm done with this.

That's exactly what I was talking about. "A part of their team was the reason they won", what kind of argument is that.

Oh man...you guys don't get it do you...3 of the US goals we're weak ones...which Brodeur surely should of had...He played an absolutely atrocity of a game. No way whatsoever did the US players actually played a good game....The only reason they won was because Miller had a horseshoe up his god damn ass. He's part of the team yes. But if you take him out of the equation they lose the game for sure.

The Us team doesn't really have skilled players besides Kessel, Parise, Kane & the 2 Johnson's, and Miller of course...And all I've seen is Kane actually the one doing something. I wouldn't expect the US to win a medal...the only way there doing that is with Miller playing ridiculously good like he has all season long. If he doesn't show up the US team is finished.

I've made my case.

So funny to watch a Canadian trying the blame game. Come on, we all suck now and then, what's the big deal?

And on that note, I'll be watching you destroying Germany later on.

How did we suck...outshooting the US 45-22 hardly sucking...the first 5 mins killed the momentum, because of Brodeur's mishandling of the puck. That's what I blame it on.

I know the game...I've been around the game for 21 years...I know you can't win them all...I'm just stating what I think of the outcome of that game, and the main reason was Miller. Just Miller.

So focus on the future...Canada has a storm brewing...They are ready to go, and nothing is stopping them here on out. Having one more game then the Russians will go in our favor.

Just watched some of the women fail incredibly on the first couple of jumps in the skicross

And I hate the fact that TV over here seems to want to show anything other than the hockey. They had minimal highlights of the Canada/US game, and only a passing mention of the Czech/Russia one...

45 shots and only 3 goals? I call that sucking.

Wow...you know nothing about hockey do you...

45 shots 3 goals, because of Ryan Miller nothing more. And because Brodeur let's in 5 goals on 22 shots means we got outplayed? Seriously go watch football or some shit.

Bitter canadian sad that his team lost, nothing more to see here. Go cry more.
