Canon is pretty good too, that's what I use, I have an EOS 3000V.
This is a pic I've taken with it:

Yeah, Canon is really good as well. As a matter of fact, in terms of compact cameras, Canon is a lot better than Nikon.
In terms of DSLRs, Canon and Nikon are pretty much even.

That's a nice photo by the way, it's got a great blue to orange gradient on with a nice and smooth transition around the left 1/3 of the image. Great contrasty image with loads of repeating shapes and patterns in the branches. Also, the brightest spot in the photo is nicely framed by those two thicker trunks. Really nice indeed. :)

Haha, yeah.

I have never done any studio work actually. Most of what I have done is nature/landscape photography. I want to start doing some studio work as well.

I'll post a few of my photos in a bit.

the good thing about a studio, is that you can 'build' (dont know if that word is correct) and in landscape... you have to work with what the nature gives to you...

OK, here are a few non-cat photos that I have taken. Neither of them are that recent really, I don't have any of my recent photos here. All taken with the Nikon D70 (with either an el-cheapo 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom or a nice 50mm f/1.8 lens) except for the first one, the sunset, which was taken with the old Olympus C-3000.

On this last photo, for those of you who have seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, does "Christmas Town" ring any bells? :)

Thank you! :D I'd give you links to larger versions of the photos but I don't have them here; I only have those previews on my website. The original photos are on my hard drive at my place and I'm currently at my parents' place.

Portugal doesn't rock though. :p
The only photos that were taken in Portugal were #1 and #2.

This one has GOT to be color edited/corrected.

That one was taken in Brazil and yeah, it was colour corrected. Not much though. In fact, if I remember correctly, all I did was increase contrast and saturation a little bit. It was a really quick thing though, just to upload the preview version, so I'll have to re-do it decently later on.

I also colour corrected the sunset one -- the damn olympus camera always introduces some nasty colour casts.

All of the others are yet to be processed.

The yellow in the boats look amazingly vivid, that's why I though so...
Actually, I don't think I touched the yellow much. It was already very rich, if not even identical, in the original photo. What I probably did was add a little bit of contrast and saturate the blue tones a little bit.

Thank you. :)

#3 and #4 were taken at the Plitvice Jezera National Park in Croatia.

#5 was actually taken in Portugal as well, just not in continental Portugal. It was taken in the Azores (Açores in Portuguese), a small portuguese archipelago.
