The best plugins and VST's for a really heavy sound?

in all seriousness ... even if there was some magical combination of plugins that would give you the sound you're looking for, it sounds like you are really NOT at a point where you would know how to use them properly. The best advise given so far was by Xnay ... start reading EVERYTHING on here every free chance you get. Its gonna take time but after a while you'll realize why this post got a lot of the reaction it did. As you start to actually learn, start experimenting. The end result will be all the better for it because the short answer to your question / problem is there is no magic plugin or magic preset to make things sound the way you want.
I agree we cannot get the right sound straight out of the box, it's definiatly about experimenting with the plugins and sounds but still, we would like to have a good start instead of having to change our software a lot. If you know what I mean. I also understand that producers laugh at this post, well I don't really give a f00k so, yea, hooray for that.:Smokin:
So what we're looking for are the right plugins for a heavy clean sound where we can experiment with.
We tried:
- Amplitube Metal: the sounds sound fake or just not what we want. The custom sounds we made were okay but not good enough.
- Amplitube 3: we used a Parkway Drive kind of sound which was really good at first but it just didn't sound perfect. Tweaking didn't really help a lot.
- Gearbox: Sucked hard.
So I guess we're going to try EzMix then.

May i sugest lepou solo c -> nick crow 8505 ->with le cab with some impulses (both free). Also there is a guitar chain posted by dandelium that i found one of the best heavy metal guitar sounds ever.

Sadly the LePou plugins are not avaible on Mac but I will check out the "guitar chain". Thanks for the suggestion.

As I already told you guys, I'm not a producer, I'm just into getting the right sound for the guitar, no mixing (as in EQ/volumes/etc.). The thing I want to explain is that I don't give a fuck about guys that reply to me with 4chan pictures that probably defines my post. Maybe it does, but I'm just here for help, no need to make clear how n00bish I am in all this. I am looking for the right plugin to use, the plugin where I get the best chance on getting the right clean heavy sound since my friend will be mixing and eventually creating the sound. I'm a bassist and I'm helping him with finding the right plugin.

Dude the reason you're getting so many sarcastic answers is because you're asking for plugin's to make you sound like Emmure or The Acacia Strain. What you should really focus on is getting the raw sound to sound great before throwing on a bunch of plugins. You havent even stated what interface your using. Plugin's don't work if your raw material is crap. This forum is very helpful but you also have to understand that there is no one way to make your tracks sound "heavy" it takes years and years of practice and research. So if you want help start out by telling everyone what you're using to record in the first place.

You are right, well the only thing I can really tell is that we're currently using Logic 9 and Amplitube 3, the guitar going directly into the MacBook. I have no clue what kind of guitar he has, hehe, it's kind of awkward making a post like this. I thought it was easier then it seems, I guess I underestimated it.
Anyways, I will make a post later and first I will be reading all these topics on Ultimate Metal and experiment with some plugins, etc.

With no disrespect implied, it sounds to me like your level of engineering ability is at odds with the sort of results you expect (demand?) to be getting.
My suggestion would be to pool your funds and record at a real studio to get a hang of the ropes, with an engineer that knows how to track metal supervising. This way you won't need to come here and ask questions you can find the answer to by just searching and using time & repetition to gain the experience to improve your results (like everyone else).
What you're looking for doesn't exist. There is no magic pill amp simulator that will make you sound like Emmure or The Accacia Strain.
If you insist on going at it alone, then all I can suggest are one of 3 options, depending on what 'flavor' of digital you're after:
-Axe-FX
-Revalver 3
-PODFarm

Thank you this is actually a useful post. Respect! I will check it all out, get into it more and you're right, an experienced engineer would be better/easier. We don't got any money for it. I will upload a sample of our current work.

Like Ermin said, there is no magic plugin. When he asked you to list what your chain was, you listed software. Software will not help you get what you're looking for. To get that heavy sound, or any decent sound for that matter, is a clean signal chain. What that means, is that you need to record the guitar with a decent DI and interface. After you get a good signal, you can start using amp sims to tweak what should already be a GOOD sound by itself.
For the rest of the mix, it really comes down to your ears and being able to judge about what actually makes a good sound. I'd be willing to bet that most people on this board could get a fucking sick mix with the built in plugins in Reaper over me with the "best plugins" around. What we're trying to tell you by "read this forum" is not read to find teh awesome plugins, but to realise that what you're looking for doesn't exist and you'll find ways to learn how to properly go around tweaking your sounds.

Ermz said it. You want to "record your music the good way." It seems less and less people realize "the good way" is to book a studio and a talented engineer. You don't HAVE to do everything yourself. You don't HAVE to be an AE just because you are a musician.
Think of it this way: When you want a good steak, you go to a nice restaurant. When you want a cool haircut, you go to a barber. But when you want to record your music and make it sound good, you just sit down in front of your computer, get a bunch of plugins and start fiddling around, hoping to hit a magic switch that makes up for trained ears and years of experience.
I don't grab a pair of pliers when I get a tooth ache either, do I?
