nop you're wrong,you can get it in STD version from ESP Custom Shop http://espguitars.co.jp/oversea/sig/al_katakana_std.html
It was a limited edition release back then, but now for this year they're putting it into Standard (and Custom Shop) mass production.
Fun fact: the katakana inlay at the 12th reads A-RE-KI-SHI. Which is about as close as you can get to writing his name in Japanese.

Interesting....The guitar is beautiful but I wouldn't buy it because there's no inlays after the 12hth fret, which I really need when I play.

No inlays but I think I've seen little dots on the binding... But I've never seen the COBHC writing on the backside of this guitar. I always thought the pink was the first guitar with COBHC on the backside... Or the information on this page is wrong....

There are different versions of this pick. Thickness goes from 0.78 - 1.38 or sth...

ada mp-1... at least a lot of those 80's preamps have nearly the same sound. and you can get nearly the same sound with a good effects unit (which aren't cheap today)
