The concerts thread

I think its just their prog element mainly...That shit really doesnt do much but bore the fuck outta me unless there is something else there to hold my attention. And Intronaut doesnt have that "other" thing to keep me interested. Their vocals are pretty weak, and their heavy parts just arent heavy enough for me to balance out their jazzy-prog shit.

All in all they just bore me. Especially live. The only member worth an honorable mention was the drummer because he was the only one with some stage performance and energy.

According to their Lord Mantis' Facebook:

summer dates will be posted soon, a short run with our friends Cobalt is in the works followed by a full USA run is being planned for July.

Hell yeah.

I've heard Nile are pretty brutal and tight live, they probably have nice set ups for a Death Metal band also.

Nice. I hope Cobalt comes through Colorado. Then I'd get to see them, Mutilation Rites, and Lord Mantis in one year. That's pretty dope.

It seems as though you gave Intronaut a chance in every respect and that's cool. Personally, I really enjoy their samba grooves but I wish they'd get some trombone and flute up in that shit to make it more authentic. What usually ends an Intronaut session for me isn't the sung vocals or the meandering grooves, it's the distorted guitars. I need variety in my instruments if there's gonna be that much variety in the compositional styles, ya know?

Seeing Opeth, Katatonia, and Steve Wilson in April at The Upstate Concert Hall, which I think use to be Northern Lights. I saw Opeth around when Ghost Reveries came out at Saratoga Winners.

UGHHH what a mess - how the mighty fall when they come to shitty upstate and are forced to play that stupid shithole. I'm considering going to see Steel Panther on the 19th

I was at that Ghost Reveries show - with Into Eternity and Nevermore and Warrel Dane had the flu or strep right?

Saw the metal Alliance tour Saturday night. A great concert that was well worth the money if you are a fan of Thrash. Anthrax is a fun live band, but I wish Exodus would have gotten more time to play.

Saw Nile tonight and they put on a great show. I was impressed with how amazing their sound was. :headbang:

Next shows are Havok and Goatwhore and then Exmortus and Witchaven.

Last one i've been to was Meshuggah... for the 5th time. Killer, as usual... <3 The laser show makes it totally cosmis.
Decapitated, who were warming them uo also kicked ass.
