I like owning albums. Besides I bought an album from a murderer today anyway. Dissection first full-length. Eventually im maybe going to get a Burzum album too. Im definetly going to buy De Mysteriis though so I will soon add another one to the list.
And lets not forget Fausts little incident. Im listening to In The Nightside Eclipse right now.
Yeah .. look I'll put it this way (this is how I tend to work regarding the sensitivities of Black Metal "politics"):
I own just about the whole Burzum Discography. People ask me "why have you, an Indian/coloured guy, bought the albums of a racist?", to which I reply that his racism became an issue AFTER his imprisonment. Prior to that, imo, he was just a young guy who happened to make some damn good Black Metal and had propsects of being a very talented artist.
NSBM.org labels Burzum as being NSBM but in actual fact it is NOT. Burzum, at the end of the day is fucking "Lord of the Rings Black Metal". Seriously, thats what the lyrical content, band name and Varg's pseudonym is, its all ripped off from Tolkien's work. Inspect the booklets if you disagree.
Drudkh as well fit into this in a way, but while they are National Socialist, their music doesnt reflect this and instead concentrates topically on their country's and people's past. To me that is fine - always interested in other countries and history. Its educational.
Like Burzum, some of Drudkh's
merchandise reflects their National Socialist beliefs, and this case I will avoid those (eg a Drudkh shirt was released a few years back which had "Art for White Intellecutal Elite" written on it. Quite disgusting, and certainly something I wont support by buying it.
Graveland on the other hand, as well as bands like Kroda, actively use National Socialism in the music itself, thus its basically white power music. I will not spend money on this trash. Besides, I dont really view "true" NSBM as Black Metal anyway, it's just a bunch of stupid idiots jumping on their own fashion bandwagon of "lets condemn other races". To me, NSBM and it's philosophy is not true to the original art of Black Metal, it is poser NS shit.
The whole thing is quite a complex issue really. Everyone has their own beliefs, but the only right/wrong I can see is that racism *(among other incorrect political issues) is fucked. Anything outside of that (in the context of what I wrote above) is open to questioning and inspection in order to arrive at a suitable "moral" judgement.
