most of you don't know/remember due to my scanty posting here lately.
Some who post here more rarely than you remember you perfectly, Qsilver :)

Hearse: thank you for correction. I made a mistake :( And I knew the correct name, I just mixed it up. :erk:

Do you still have the cassette? My friend still has them, and he has so high morals (what I adore) that he doesn´t copy them for anyone, not even for me (because these have a MUCH better soundquality than the mp3s circling in the net). So I can only listen to those when I visit him ;)

Yeah, I know the issue with Spinefarm. They do that very often, first not react, and then, when they see a band on stage, they suddenly decide that they want to sign them. COB were already signed to another company that time.
Same happened to Charon for example. They were not noticed until they supported Sentenced and got signed right after the show.
This happened a lot with bands and Spinefarm which makes me a bit wonder a) what they do with all the demos and b) why they agree in being sent demos at all.
Though, I havent given up yet. Last year I captured Ewo and gave him two demos. I hope he´ll listen because it would be really worth it.
(hello to Ewo if you happen to read this  )

Has Thales sent demos to Spinefarm?

Heh well we sent demo there but they didn't even bother to reply, so I would guess they didn't even listen it.
But's that's the story with most labels, we sent demo for 20 labels and only about 8-10 bothered to reply/listen.
:( I think that many labels get so much stuff that they drown in it.
And what did those say who replied?
Maybe it is a good idea trying to get A&R´s to gigs, somehow. Seems that way a good amount of bands get their deals.

And no I don't have the cassette anymore, I did copy it to minidisc since cassettes don't last too long, but then my MD player broke and deleted most of my MD's among that one :bah:
I actually kinda liked that demo, it wasn't shredding oriented at all.
too bad.
But about cassettes, I think they do last long actually. I have still some old tapes and their quality hasn´t changed at all, if you store them well. Tapes seem to be a system that is quite stable in a way.
Heh, the new promos of a recordcompany come as tapes again :D, to make "internet-release" more difficult.
I can´t say too much about the music on Inearthed-Demos, because I listen so seldom :) But I liked them lots.

The Lantern Nut: You´re welcome :)

Funniest reply must been about "really great and interesting music, I'm sure you going to get signed..."

Also we just recorded another demo which is alot better than promo 2003, also it has 10 times better sounds, so lets hope we make some progress

well, you can send me a demo/the demos and I´ll write a review - if you like. But then you must keep in mind that I will write my opinion and not, if Hearse is someone I know or not ;), so you can´t take it personally. Though I expect I will rather like it.

That's a common mistake, people telling their real opinion instead of looking for the best thing to say. And the world keeps on spinning... :Smug:

Maybe you think it is a common mistake. That doesn´t mean it is common in general ;)

Anyways, I can try to explain better. I don´t say that I am objective, because I am not. I tell my personal feelings about the CDs, and like you can see from those reviews for example,
Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage
Poisonblack-Escapexstacy
I clearly state if I like an artist. But that doesn´t mean I have to write it´s great just because I know someone of the band. I write, that it´s great when I think so.
Also, what you can only read in german, there are demo-reviews of bands (Storm Of Sorrows) where I give suggestions what could be improved and where are the strong points; actually I realized one band considering these hints. But I don´t go and say: "I want to push this band because I met one of their members and he´s a nice guy." Though: I do support bands when I like them. But there is a difference in between those two things.

Also I got demos here where I feel unable to write a review because I have good friends in the band and I can´t get enough distance to write an article about this - though it´s awesome music. In these cases I rather tell my opinion & feedback via e-mail or in real life only to bandmembers.

I give both: my real opinion and the best thing to say ;)

I listened to few songs last year and I liked them. There are two on my computer (Eerie Presence and "Song 1" but I have problems playing them atm. - some unknown error...) I am pretty sure it is nothing I would totally dislike. You know how to find me if you decide so
Good luck for your labelsearch! =)

EDIT: I think, even if you don´t send them to mags, you should consider sending it to at least Soundi and Imperiumi, especially when you think it is really good. Then you can put their reviews on your pages and have some more nice things to read there. And with those, you just get your band more presence. Like people read the review there, and when a gig is announced, they may remember the band-name from reading the review and are more likely to come there. Or they download songs because of the review, and so you get manifestated in people´s mind ;)
