The Gaming Thread

^You mean love? Sex games?

You don't need a powerful PC for that game right? A 8800 GT card and a 2.4 Quad will do fine huh? Talking about amnesia btw.

Dead space 2 starting on zealot is much harder than impossible mode in the first. I don't see many beating hardcore mode...

^glad to hear that!

just finished the first one on hard, it was not that bad once you got into it

i have a good idea on how/when to upgrade weapons though thanks to RE4

So far only a couple people have beaten hard core mode. They have revealed its awesomeness in reward...a foam fan hand that one shots every and its firing sound is "Pew pew, pew pew!"

^get out

oh shit, demons souls sequal coming up!!!!! its called "dark souls". fuck demons osuls was probably the best console rpg this gen. first game i truely loved the online aspect.

I have finally bought my first LCD screen after all these years sticking with CRT monitors. LCD quality simply was not there in appearance or performance until like 2005-ish and even then a monitor that functioned as well as a CRT was too expensive.

Now that I have this new 24" LCD, I'm very happy with it. 16:9 widescreen view is amazing for games, I tested it with Fallout New Vegas, GTA 4 and Crysis and I'm surprised how much better these games look with a nice monitor. It's almost like getting a new video card.

Not to mention they used to break internally EASILY(speaking from mucho LAN party experience). But yeah i'm running a 24" LCD now and could never go back. Think its the perfect size as well for up close and personal PC gaming.

-Only achievement left in Dead Space 2 is Hard to the Core. Going to start my attempts at it tomorrow night. From what I've heard the difficulty is between normal and survivalist(hard) mode difficulty, with resource drops from Zealot (harder than Impossible mode) difficulty with zero check points and only 3 saves allowed. Was thinking about not going for it when I thought the overall difficulty was on par with Zealot mode; but with the hand cannon reward and reading some discussions on the difficulty, I'm going to give it a go.

So...throwing this out there...

Who's into racing simulations? I consider it a hobby for me more than gaming, serious stuff for me. :)

After almost a decade of sim racing I've gone from the at the desk with the wheel and pedals on the ground to this:

And my bass transducer (shakes the shit out of the cockpit with engine sounds and rumble strips etc)

 i got rid of mine a couple years ago, and yea lcd makes so much of a difference

PV i saw that abotu dead space 2, i love the *only 3 saves* idea, makes it like classic hard as fuck games. i like the sound of the handcannon, the one in RE4 was brutal (and well worth 5 starring the mercenaries with all people/all levels)

lolwat, can you even buy CRT monitors anymore? :p

I'm not sure, but they are reliable so I had an old one that worked as good as new. Fucking beast or a 22" CRT monitor, It's the largest monitor I've ever seen, the thing was the size of a TV. But bringing that thing to LANS (especially involving stairs) was a bitch.
