The Gaming Thread

holy crap

just finished castlevania: lord of shadows

that game was sooooo good, the platforming gave it such an old school feel, the combat was fluid and challanging. bosses were intense, titans were epic. the story was one of the best ive played in a long time.

and that ending, plegthon veins, you and i will have to have a spoilers discussion, because that ending (and after the credits) was just perfect. i hope they make a sequel :D

good call on waiting for the epilogue

i heard people lamenting (lol) about how it "wasnt a castlevania game" and it was a "god of war clone" (which is already retarded) and the story wasnt good, and i dont understand what game those people were playing because i thought the opposite for the most part

marvel vs capcom 2 is fucking amazing also

anyone like RPGs?

some ive liked are (not gonna list all systems):
ff1/2/4/7/9/X (but NOT 12 or 13, cause those were shitty)
tales of sympnoia (GC)
tales of the abyss
shin megami tensei nocturne (ps2)
digital devil saga 1/2
persona 3/4
star ocean 2/3/4(4 was the worst but its still good)
golden sun 1/2
dragon warrior 3
dragon warrior monsters
gladius
disgaea 1/3
borderlands (kinda)
diablo 2
super mario rpg
rogue galaxy (they made white knight chronicles, so if you thought that looked good, this is better/more balenced in every way)
fire emblem (all of em)
dragon age
oblivion
lagoon (snes)
xmen legends 1/2 (sounds lame but theyre fucking awesome, like gauntlet dark legacy idea, speaking of....)
gauntlet dark legacy
pokemon red/gold

thats all i can think of off the top of my head

Dragon Warrior 1 was good also. But Dragon Quest 8, maybe the best RPG I've played. Comparable to OoT in scope and enjoyability of the world. Hours of challenging fun. My only regret is that I missed the old enemies: Magician, Warlock, various wyverns, dragons... way better than 'evil mouse' and the cute sort of enemies they use now.

White Knight Chronicles was fun but the single player is too easy. The real fun is the georama and co-op quests, when you get above GR 7 it becomes challenging. Looking forward to WKC 2... but it may stay in Japan.

For a good JRPG I loved Eternal Sonata.

I havent played Borderlands yet but it looks superfun. Looking forward to trying Dragon Age 2.

MvC3 incoming.

Oh and has anyone else seen how sexy the scorpion/ sub zero statues are for the kollectors edition of Mortal Kombat?

welcome to the thread :D. i hadnt played DQ8, but im lovin that review. ive played dragon quest 1, and possibly 5...

if you liked white knight chronicles, and have access to a ps2, get rogue galaxy, it is made by the same people, except its far better. i was honestly really excited for WTC, but by comparison its complete shit. the combat felt artificially long, like the enmies had a ridiculous amount of health so battles would take a long time, i may be a cynic though

ive been curious about eternal sonata myself, im looking forward to tales of graces F (which is comparable gameplay, and im a big tales series fan :))

borderlands is definitely excellent, especially in multiplayer

MvC3 incoming.

MvC3 is my day tomarrow :D:D:D:D, fuckin waited 2 years at least for this game (since they first released MvC2 on the PSN). which reminds me, if anyone is getting it for ps3 we should do multiplayer (i was never....the greatest at 2, but i was ok, played with who i liked instead of sentinel/magneto/storm/cable/etc......actually i loved cable :P)

I was a beast at MvC in the arcades growing up, along with MK 1 - 3. Never played any console adaptations of MvC, but plan on digging deep into MvC3, before Mortal Kombat hits of course. Wish I was playing it on PS3, but I just can't warrant purchasing one right now. Not when I'm putting extra money into this XD [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQvofwrYM1Y&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Got my previous game to Gamefly late due to the wifey forgetting to drop it off. Crossing my fingers MvC3 will still be available to ship once mine gets there.

:D^

so i went to pick up my marvel vs capcom special edition yesterday only to find the mall closed due to the roof collapsing, the other ebgames in town couldnt honor my preorder because it wasnt their stock so i had to settle for a regular edition.

kinda pissed and now i have 5$ ebgames credit :p, but whatever, MvC3 is a lot of fun :D

Best videogame trailer ever? I think so...this game looks fuckin awesome.
