The Gaming Thread

i did it the other way around, did some of the guild stuff, but mainly got through the story first. then the last thing I did was the dark brotherhood. When all that was finished it did get boring after a while.

Between Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 I'm going to hear A LOT about being a neglectful spouse in the later portion of 2011.

the guy I live with plays battlefield, if that's the last one then that's the one he plays... with a good broadband it looks quite cool played online :) I still play mah DOOM II in zdaemon

Battlefield is the only 'military shooter' I can stomach anymore.

I just started Bulletstorm today, pretty darn enjoyable but nothing groundbreakingly aweeeeeeesome yet.

Deadly Premonition is going to be one of those games I'll always be talking about within the future.

Annddd I stumbled upon a method in MvC3 with M.O.D.O.K. of being equally as fecking annoying to any punk that spams ranged on me in ranked matches. Now I only fear when people start using it against me simply to be jack offs when I don't have a flyer / teleporter on my team, as we all know cheap methods in fighting games seem to spread quicker than legit strategy based on precision.

Holy fuck, latest version of Unreal Engine 3 is mind blowing. The below video is all rendered in real-time, although it is scripted it is not a pre-rendered thing, all the effects and lighting and shit is generated by the game engine. The sheer amount of detail and reflections and shadows is insane. It isn't an actual game though, it's just a tech demo. I feel like a nerd for getting excited over a game engine

Yar it does look quite sexy. Crytek is making some impressive ground as well. Oh, and for all of those that say "Yeah Unreal is great for greys blacks and 10 shades of brown..." play Bulletstorm. Some GORGEOUS fecking scenery in that game.

Magicka is a lot of fun and it's fucking hilarious. Loved the "RPG Much?" achievement. After defending that farm I honestly expected a reward since I'm so used to it, when I didn't get one I set the lady on fire:)

Just bought Dragon Age 2 off steam, downloading now. Loved the first but am kinda irked at the reviews and all the streamlining/dumbing down in the sequel. We'll see I guess.

i liked DA1 better. but check it out yourself, i guess it's a matter of one's preferences whether you like it or not.

I have not tried Dragon Age 2, but I intend to play it soon. Dragon Age was a good game, although I don't think I like it as much as most people seem to.

If DA 2 is dumbed down like griev0r mentioned I'm going to be pissed. I hate this dumbing down of interfaces that consoles are bringing about, I honestly think my biggest problem with Skyrim is going to be the interface being too user-friendly and not intuitive enough. Oblivion was a huge step back compared to Morrowind's menus.

And Max Payne 2 was an awesome game. I don't think the third is going to capture the magic and feel of the first two in any way, it looks like it's shaping up to be a very by the books shooter, complete with a bland and over-used desert terrorist setting.
