This is not exactly a problem since you can probably preorder the album directly from peaceville or buy it on amazon or whichever option is cheaper and recieve it (probably by airmail) the day it comes out in the states and Europe.

except from the part that I asked my friend to rip only My twin from his promo cd and send it to me.when you have a 2/3 of song sample,you just gotta hear the rest of the song because it's already in your face...
at some point you stop noticing the anouncer
 
Just would like to add that if it wasnt for filesharing I probably wouldnt have heard of katatonia or bought any of their cds at all.

But I can understand its annoying to have it leaked 3 months beforehand. The sad truth is that to keep a record a secret is to have a closed listening session for journalists only. But that would really be for someone with enough fame to make it worthwhile for music magazines to pay flight tickets and hotel costs......

Anyway which person would be so stupid to statisfy with MP3 version with voiceover? Especially if one has a half decent HIFI or home cinema system.

Uhm I don't have the time to read the whole thread, but hey... there's a promo version of the last album of my favorite band around in the web: I can't do nothing but download it as soon as i can, devour it with listenings and be prepared to spend my money as soon as the album will be released... The voiceover stand there for rip-off people, but we know it's not a matter of respect, if I love a band and its records I'll buy them, otherwise I won't, now and in the future...
I've been waiting for this album (and many others) for a long time, why should I wait for more if I can listen to it now? I want to know what I buy, and I'm too crazy for this band not to get their songs now... and hear they're fucking good! Same effect of Viva Emptiness: not so catchy at their first listenings, but greater with every following listening... I'll surely buy it and if I can I'll take some for my distribution too... LONG LIVE KATATONIA!

Oh and about christmas gifts, opened before their date... I don't believe in "fixed-date gifts" :D and if the gift is ready, or quite ready, you can taste it...

Master of my domain was when the seinfeld gang had a bet who would hold out the longest time without masturbating,i.e having self control.

the greatest katatonia album certainly.now sharing the top of my lis with tool.vocals and drums are first class.

I tried to make a point in this thread many times....and I just dont think that people are aware of what exactly they are saying in relation to you and katatonias wishes.....fortunately I dont have anything to talk about except "MY TWIN".....and I feel good in the wait....and why I wait....

so put on your idiot hats people......those of you who deserve it know who you are.....
 
Just imagine Katatonia recorded an entire album to be reviewed, knowing it would get leaked. Then they release the REAL Great Cold Distance, unreviewed and totally unheard. :P Christ, I'm a geek.
