The I'm Going/Just Went to a Concert Thread

I haven't been to any concerts so far this year, and I went to none last year. =[ But in 2006 I finally saw Katatonia and Blind Guardian (not together), and the year before Opeth and Nevermore (together).

I'm finally going to another show soon, though, and that's Carcass and Suffocation, on September 12. It's going to christrape. I might go see Obituary on the 16th, too. \m/

I saw the Paganfest in London and went to Bloodstock. I'll be seeing Opeth with Cynic in November and I'll try and catch Esoteric this month.

I've seen Tool 4 times. ...Those are always a trip.
I've seen Opeth twice.
Mars Volta twice.
Katatonia twice.
Incubus twice.
A Perfect Cirlce.
Coheed, and Cambria.
Thrice.
3.
Deftones.
Sentenced.
Nevermore.
Thomahawk.
Iron Maiden.
The Haunted.
Devin Townsend.
Megadeth.

A few hundred more I can't remember or don't care to. I've been listening to Nine Inch Nails since Downward, but I've never managed to see them because they always sell out too fast although I plan on doing so no matter what. I'd definitely love to see Pink Floyd, and I'd also like to see Porcupine Tree, and Pain of Salvation, but other than that I don't feel like going to shows anymore really.

  i hate you. Dying of envy o_O

^shit, me too. Thats great. If we are talking all bands we have seen here is my list, well the ones Im proud of anyway

Carlos Santana (late 80's when he was still worth seeing)
Tool x 3
A Perfect Circle
Roger Waters (doing Darkside Of The Moon)
Strapping Young Lad (at Ozzfest 06)
Nine Inch Nails

Bands I seen before I knew what good music was

Korn
Staind
Mindless Self Indulgance
Marilyn Manson
Ozzfest 01 and 06

you live in fucking Australia. That's more than island, it's a continent! I think more bands go there than mexico.
Don't let your issues with him get confused with the country he happens to be from. Oz gets it's fair share of metal bands. Obviously not as much as the US or Europe. But like most countries out of the US and Europe it's just a matter of a promoter inviting them/the financial ability for a band to make the trip.

Going to Opeth in October in Vancouver.
Notice today that the show is sold out - I CANNOT wait!
I feel for these lil shorties who can't go because they're too young to drink...

I saw Therion and Draconian just a tad over a year ago, and at the end of this month I'm going to see Orphaned Land, pretty fuckin' excited about that!
Should've seen Dark Tranquillity, Nevermore, Opeth, The Haunted, The Fading & Meshuggah a few weeks ago but it got canned.

Yeah, the cancellation completely fucked up my plans.

So far, I'm planning on going to Jose Gonzales in October, if I find someone to go with :(

Random (awesome) quote about live music :"It is impossible to believe the emotional and spiritual intensity and pure, classic beauty that can be produced by a musician, a band or a concert. If you do not choose to believe it possible and want to regard it all as nonsense you may be able to prove you are right by going to a concert in which nothing magical occurs; and there are many of them; enough always so you will be able to prove it to your own satisfaction. But if you ever should see the real thing you would know it. It is an experience that either you will have in your life or you will never have. However, there is no way you can be sure you will ever see a great performance unless you go to many concerts. But if you ever do see one, finished by a great encore, you will know it and there will be many things you will forget before it will be gone." - Ernest Hemingway

YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN SEE AMON AMARTH NOW!!!!!!!!
