The iPods Thread

'Oh look, something ridiculously overpriced and unreliable, looks great! I'm not going waste time looking at any of the hundreds of other MP3 players for something that has almost identical or better features even though it could save me money and wont break down after 5 minutes. iPod it is!'...'oh man, I'm so glad I spent all my money on this piece of crap, time to put some music on it... oh wait, I have to use this ridiculous unnescessary software, hooray!'...'wow, I'm listening to my music! oh, wait, I nudged it slightly and broke every component... oh well, i'll just buy 50 more so I never run out'

Archos all the way baby.

I have a 30 GB Zen. It was cheaper than an Ipod, supports more file types, has a audio recorder, customizable backgrounds, a radio tuner...

Ipods sell because they are trendy. There are superior options out there.

I have a 30 gig ipod, might change brands when I upgrade but so far I've had no problems with ipod. Probably gonna need a new one soon at 18 gigs now, and I've only been collecting music for 2 years now. I'd like to make sure that if I switch brands that it had all the features an ipod does.

My iPod recently started being gay, so I restored it to default settings...had to put music back on it but it works fine now.

ive got a 30 gig black video ipod. i only have music on it, and have about 8 gigs left. i dont want to buy another one until the touch ipods have some more HD space, but i may not have a choice.

ive only had major problems with my first ipod. i took it in to an apple store and they exchanged it right on the spot. and because i was on leave from japan, i didnt have to make an appointment! unfortunately, that replacement got stolen, so i had to buy a new one. went from a 40 gig to a 30 because no one sold the old versions. i wasnt pleased

mine at one point wouldnt sync, so i had to completely erase it and put all my music back on!
That happened to mine, but I reset it and there were no more problems after that.

Anyways, I have a 4gb ipod nano, which I can fit 500-650 songs on. If I buy another one in the future, I think I'll stick with classic and not the new touch ones.
