oh dear.

Well I never saw Decapitated live but at least in the cds they rule. I don't know Crytopsy or whatever but Decapitated are very good. They're guitar player is great. And they're definitly one of the best death metal bands out there. The amazing part is that they're barely 20. They were all 17/18 when they record Winds of Creation.

PS- And yes Nile are great too but I prefer Decapitated :p

Decapitated wrote most of the songs for 'winds of creation' when they were about 15. hahah it astounds me that they were all 18 and under when they recorded that album, haha fuck, Decapitated piss on all other death metal bands.

That was quite possibly the best gig I've ever been to. I've never before had such an urge to cane my neck as much as I did, or sing so much. I feel sorry for Butterfly standing next to me for some of the time, because I was screaming the lyrics insanely. Actually, no I don't feel sorry for her...she was windmilling like some bloody spin dryer and wacking me in the head!

Yeah Thorns, I was singing along with the acoustic part of Godhead's Lament at the top of my voice!

The Deliverance songs were amazing too!!

*is holiding his finger to his ear desperately trying to block atomic kitten out from the tv*

hehe i didnt realise they were playing godheads lament untill the acoustic part, i was just like 'ahhhhhhhgggg what the fuck is this song called' yeah it kicked ass, when they played demon of the fall it was amazing.

morgour: IMO decapiteted isn`t the most technical band in the scene..
check out these bands:

nekrophagist
theory in practice
dying fetus
spawn of possession

list continues...
but yeah...decapitated is pretty technical too:)

You know butterfly? Who are you? I was there too...

The decapitated guitarist was quite sloppy in places at the gig.

Maybe he should concentrate on his fretboard and not his headbanging...this goes for the rest of the band, they seem to be engulfed in the image side of being a death metal band in my opinion.

On the other hand Cryptopsy are an absolutely amazing live band, i saw them in london two years ago and they pulled everything off perfectly.
The fact that they have two guitarist's also helps, Decapitated may do better if they also had another guitar guy, at the moment they suck really bad live, the sound is too thin.

I honestly cannot believe why anybody would think Decapitated are more technical than Cryptopsy, to say that is just insanity.

Decapitated's live sound is fine.

i gave cryptopsy a good listen, nothing impressed me atall, it was fucking boring. i dont get whats so special about them.

Same here, I was really expeting Wreath, so it threw me a bit.

2 things...

1. Are you hanging around here all day defending Decapitated or what?

2. The irony of your statements. So won't let ANYONE have a different opinion to you about Decapitated yet you don't mind telling everyone else that their favourite band "sux bollox". Grow up and face the fact that not everyone likes the same bands as you. Do you really think I'd get far on this board telling people how amazing Dream Theater (for example) are and telling them to shove their own bands? No. That's why I don't do it.

Yeah that was such an amazing gig, they played so well live. The other two songs you are thinking of were Credence and Advent I think. I wasn't that keen on the first support band, the 2nd were very metal, but the vocalist used his death metal groan a bit too much "thankyoooooo" (in a groaned metal voice). The bassist for the second band (Decapitated) must have had the stiffest neck ever after that performance, he was swinging his head round like a madman! But yeah, was seriously sweet at the end when they went off, everyone chanted "OPETH OPETH OPETH" and they came back on and played Demon Of The Fall - such a good song, the screaming in it is cool, shame they didn't play April Ethereal or Karma though. But yeah good gig, I will see them again next year...

Whoever it was that tried to say that Decapitated are more technical than Cryptopsy: No.

I love Decapitated, I have both their full lengths, brilliant stuff, but Cryptopsy is probably some of the most brutal, technical death metal ever made.
