I thought the question was about metal classics !? Bands like Soilwork, Symphony X, Children of Bodom etc. may be good, but they certainly do not belong to metal classics !!! What a joke ! Metal classics are Paranoid, the Number of the beast, TNT, Smoke on the Water, the final countdown, We´re not gonna take, the Boys are back in Town etc etc etc .
Cheerz

1: Guns N' Roses "Nightrain"
2: Type O Negative "Black no. 1"

Then there's also these:
Burzum "Det som en gang var", "Burzum" ("Dunkelheit") & "Lost wisdom"
Opeth "Dirge for November"
Guns N' Roses "Coma"
Iron Maiden "To tame a land", "Rime of the ancient mariner", "Mother Russia" & "The nomad"
The Gathering "Leaves"
Soundgarden "4th of July" (I know this doesn't qualify as metal, but I guess GN'R doesn't either)
Satyricon "Dominions of Satyricon" & "Nemesis Divina"
Darkthrone "Hans siste vinter" & "Unholy black metal"
Limbonic Art "Beneath the burial surface"
Paradise Lost "Shades of god"
Emperor "The burning shadows of silence", "Curse you all men!", "The source of Icon E" & "The tongue of fire"
Dimmu Borgir "In death's embrace"
Theatre of Tragedy "On whom the moon doth shine"
The 3rd and the Mortal "Why so lonely"
Pantera "13 Steps" & "Shedding skin"
Enslaved "Entrance/Escape"
Aerosmith "Eat the rich" (although this is hard-rock)
And more or less every song from Type O's "Bloody Kisses", "October rust" & "World coming down" and more or less every song from Opeth's "Blackwater park", "My arms your hearse" & maybe from "Morningrise". There are a bunch more, but I can't recall them right now and I don't want to look through all my records. It takes too long. Skid Row's "Monkey business" is also cool and so is Van Halen's "Hot for teacher"!

If this was the case everybody would just post those songs! I think this was a question about what YOU think are the best metal songs, so I listed the songs that I think are the best metal songs I've heard.

Yes, I do own Vice City. But that´s not why I listed these track. Okay, I could have listed Girls, girls, girls or Too fast for love instead of Too young to fall in love, but since I got this track on my mind after playing Vice City for hours i chose that instead. But Raining Blood would have been on my list in any case.

Here's some classic albums on my list, rather than just single songs (too hard!)..... From late 70's to present day, no particular order:

Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King
Mercyful Fate - Melissa // Don't Break The Oath
King Diamond - Abigail
Destruction - Live Without Sense
Iron Maiden - Killers // Number Of The Beast // Piece Of Mind
Megadeth - Peace Sells.... But Who's Buying?
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1
Metal Church - Metal Church
In Flames - Clayman
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion // Into The Pandemonium
Death Angel - Act III
Black Sabbath - Sabotage // Master Of Reality // Mob Rules
Dio - Last In Line // Holy Diver
Rainbow - Rainbow Rising

A hard to find killer classic is Attacker's "Battle At Helm's Deep".
Some very cool hard rock albums for metalheads would be the Cult's "Electric" and their newest LP "Beyond Good And Evil", and anything from Deep Purple, starting with "In Rock" and "Perfect Strangers". See if you don't wear out your CD player on these!

There are a zillion others, but these are off the top of my head without looking at my collection, so you know they rank very high with me. Go to eBay or half.com and you can probably get all 27 of these used for under 150 bucks....
