Despite some minimal efforts to get a hold of that EP, I have only heard the 45-second clip of Tempo... posted a few months back. That alone convinces me to buy this.

I will make no efforts to hear it before the release date. I'll find out then.

...Lighten up, Francis...
I'll mail you that EP............?

Yep, you're getting as annoying as Stun. Maybe you should start your own message board together and you guys can agree on everything ? :D
Smart Ass, gotta love all this rhetoric! When we stand behind something, look out! The assholes are a gaping............:)

I don't understand how I'm annoying when I said, based on what I'ved heard, the Exodus album isn't going to be too impressive. I'm the one who should be annoyed, because you people looked over the fact that I said based on what I've already heard twice. I never said my opinion can't change if I hear something better from the new album, nor did I say anything about anyone who disagreed with me. I only mentioned Stun because he apparantly thinks you're all rather stupid, and when I post, in big bold letters, the reasoning for what I said, and then another post shows up saying that my opinion is wrong, I begin to wonder if there is some stupidity afterall. What the fuck, I have a right to my opinion, and it shouldn't be criticised. In this aspect, you're more like Stun than I am. Just because I made reference to him doesn't mean I know him, cared about him, respect him, want to jerk him off, etc. I don't give a shit about him. So why the stupid comment? I didn't do shit to anyone on this board, and now I have everyone against me...

I'm not against you Doden..I happen to agree with your original post. Don't get me wrong, Exodus rocks..but I don't see myself grabbing that cd over some of the other cds I've acqiured lately. DE didn't mean it the way it sounded..he is just very close to this particular band and very protective. As far as Stun goes..well..he may be coming around..he's just a bit abrasive on occasion...types before he thinks...etc..

For those of you who want to flame me over this..The new Exodus is really killer, I really like it..they have stuck to their formula and that is something that is very respectable...but...they haven't updated their sound. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing..but in comparison to the stuff that's out there right now it's not quite as heavy as we're used to. Back in the day Exodus was one of the heaviest things going, but the genre has surpassed that level. Take Testament for example, compare The New Order to The Gathering. When the New order came out it was one of the heaviest albums you could buy..but when you compare it to The Gathering..it's not quite as heavy substance wise..you know what I mean? The music is a little more sparse in the new Order compared to the Gathering...am I making sense?? Anyway..it's all just opinion and that's mine...everyone's got one :) This is in no way a slam on Exodus AT ALL..because they RULE!! I love them and will buy anything they put out, they have stayed Old School and haven't compromised one bit and that commands a ton of respect from anyone who "gets" it!

Understand this: I have known Exodus since the Kirk Hammet days, they have influenced me more than any other band ever. They have made me what I am today musically.......They took me under their wing, brought me around the world, opened all the doors that were closed before, brought me places I only dreamed about. I've had some of the best times of my life with all of Exodus and their relatives, & crew, they are family to me, to this day........So now they are trying to make the biggest comeback, of their career, I support them and their music 100%, (IMO....Tempo Of The Damned is is their best effort since Pleasures Of The Flesh, I have heard the WHOLE album, and can honestly say that.) And I will defend, and bury the dead, along the way, if I have too.......it's in my blood, once a part of the SLAY TEAM, always Bonded By Blood!

If you don't want to get treated like Stun, then don't say....
"....Holy shit, maybe Stun wasn't so wrong as I thought..."
I don't think anyone is against you, you just got caught up in the heated moment....Your Bold letter post was like you were yelling at me.....Don't act like Stun & you won't be treated as such.....And don't compare me to Stun either.......I am not like him, I back up my talk.......Enough said, I'm not against you.......

I was only pointing out that my opinion was only going on what I heard, because 2 or 3 people missed that, and then I assumed you missed it again with that other post. And then another few posts after that, it's easy to see my viewpoint.

MI.......the only negative thing I have to say is that I know you've only heard 4 songs(one of these is a cover & will not be on the new album), so you've only heard 3 songs, & thats not enough to base an opinion(IMO)....in fact the song Impaler is better and heavier than in the old days, so you've only really heard 2 brand new 2002 Exodus songs, and like Dodens Grav, your already classifying Exodus, & saying they have not updated their sound, how do you know?

And then you say..."they have stayed Old School and haven't compromised one bit "........

What is it? .....They have not compromised one bit?........Or they have not updated their sound?........Whatever you think those are total opposites, thats Insane MI........And again you've only heard 2 brand new Exodus songs.........Polish your Crystal Ball..........:Smug:

Well...no they aren't opposites..by staying old school and not compromising that aspect of the writing process, they are still old school Exodus...the songs I've heard sound exactly like Exodus from back in the day and could easily be on Pleasures of the Flesh and not sound out of place. Now...here's where they intersect...by staying old school...the sound in the couple of songs I've heard isn't as heavy as today's standards would have them be because they are OLD SCHOOL Exodus songs. If the other songs are heavier like you say..then that's a good thing..if that's what you're looking for. But if your looking for a solid, true-to-form Exodus then the songs I've heard are what you expected....it's a win win situation because neither one is a bad thing..I'm not saying that the entire album will sound like the songs I've heard...and I'm not saying I don't like what I've heard...I think I told you I really like it a lot.

For the record....I've only heard 2 new songs and these observations are from those two songs...

Do you think it's impossible to have an opinion without having all of the information about a particular subject? Because if that's so, then I understand why you say what you've said, but I highly disagree with you. Here's an example; you read the first few chapters of a book, and you're not liking it. Do you not think you'll have a negative opinion of that book at that point? That is the exact situation I am in with the new Exodus cd, and like I would assume that the book isn't very good, I also assume at this point that the new Exodus cd will not be anything special. I understand you have strong ties to the band, but don't let that cloud your mind. I'm sure you wouldn't act this way if it were another band you have no personal affiliation with.

please don't turn this into a slam fest...not everyone thinks alike..thats why it's fun to discuss differences..it turns shitty when it turns into personal attacks and I've been that road and I don't particularly like it or want to take part in it again (ie..Opeth and Arch Enemy)
I agree with you hear (including Opeth and Arch Enemy, assuming that you like them based on your avatar).

Dodens, why don't you just stop? In the immortal words of Kenny Rogers, "you gotta know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away and know when to run....."

And by the way, you are so wrong about the album its not even funny. Walter's not being overprotective, and its light years ahead of POTF. Zet sounds like he's been hanging out with Chuck, and has turned in prolly the best performance of his career. Not to mention Gary was saying that magazines are giving it very high marks (I think he said Aardshok gave it like 96 out of 100). For once you should just listen to your elders and accept some things as being true..... even if you don't like to.

When it comes you one's personal opinion, you should never listen to anyone else. You decide for yourself, no one else decides for you. Also, you don't decide for anyone else either. So don't tell me my opinion is wrong. My opinion stands until I hear the rest of the album. If you don't agree with it, that's perfectly fine, just stop harassing me about it.

That's exactly what I was saying in a previous post, Zet sounds much more powerful , "from what I've heard" , which is from the EP I was lucky to get.
