It was karate kicked out of my hand in a small pit at a death metal gig. :erk:

Thanks for posting your fotos. It's always nice to place a face with the name. :)

Your poor P71. :(

Will there be a proper funeral and burial?

sole:  Don't worry, i'll never go that far. ;) How old did you think i was?

wildfyr: An unfortunate end for a camera. =( And you're welcome; next time i go out with friends who have digital cameras i'll post more pics.

fireangel: Really? Hah, that's odd.

On the second pic, that's just my metal pose ;) (actually, yes, the whole point of that picture was to show the spikes). On the third one, yes, we're both showing off the spikes as well. And on the fourth one i guess only the guy on the back was showing them off (the girl and i just had our arms crossed).

If there is a proper funeral/burial, don't forget to invite your fellow UMers.

@fireangel: You're welcome, and thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying the views. :) I hope I'm not boring the rest of the community with all the regional coverage, though. Please let me know if it becomes too familiar and boring and I'll give it a rest. ;-) As for the broken camera, I'm already over it. I pulled it out to finally take fotos of its remains as suggested by an online acquaintance over a year ago.

@Arch: It's already back in its original box. I don't know why I hang onto to these old things. :loco: I'm wondering if I should donate it, and the Pentax, to AmVets or some sort of not-for-profit camera learing facility - if such a place exists. It would be better than just tossing them in the trash, no?

@Undo: Yes. Please post more fotos of you, your friends, and your local indoor/outdoor views. Do you happen to live near the coast? If you do I'd love to see some nice shots of some warm, sandy Mexican beaches. That would be really great because right now it's freezing cold up here! ;)

wildfyr: I live about 3-5 hours from the nearest coastline, but whenever i go to the beach i'll take some pics. I don't have a digital cam yet, but when i buy one or when someone gives me one as a present i'll take more pics and post them up here. Thanks for the interest. =)

@UndoControl: Super! I look forward to your fotos.

@fireangel: Wow! Thanks for digging up that info. I'll have to explore the links and also get back to you with some Schaumburg, IL info. I think it has some German heritage. More later! ...

wildfyr: you´re welcome, and it wasn´t much digging :) I know the name already since history lessons at elementary school, and I just had to find the right homepages in a few minutes.
We actually still have "aristocratic" families with that family name of Schaumburg - Lippe (and many other old families), just that they are civil citizens nowadays, because there is no official aristocracy anymore since the kings and emperors went :D But there are some families with names of cities, counties or regions, which their ancestors owned.

This is all very interesting. Thanks for bringing it up. :tickled:

I found some links but I didn't find the link to a b/w foto of the clock tower in the middle of town. I thought I had it bookmarked but apparently not.

This the main VoS site
http://www.ci.schaumburg.il.us/

And then I found this link, which had more info than what I had previously known before so it was a learning experience and I'm glad I spent the time to dig it up, :D

@Dafne: Thanks for posting the Minoan art. Cool stuff!

@DragonLady1: You capture some of the most unique facial expressions ever to be fotographed. I continue to be delighted and amazed by your highly inspirational work.

@Necromancy and Hitori: You have adorable pets. Thanks for sharing them with us. :)

@Human Desert: That goes for you too, but I don't mind telling you again.

@Naku: Cool pic. Nice to see your smiling face again. :D Is that a bear skin on the wall in the background?

Here are some current views from my part of the world

thanx so much for ur words and great pics :worship: looks really like a looot of snow woow o_O where is it exactly?

so well, I didnt see any gig for a month now *cries* cause I was sick and had to miss two gigs :( but I found some anthrax pics from metalcamp

anthrax10.jpg

mister tongue haha

saturday I'll see OPETH!!! and next tuesday DARK TRANQUILLITY :)

@DragonLady1: Thanks! :) Yes, there has been lots of snow coming down, and it continues to fall! Would you like me to send some flakes your way? We seem to have more than our share at the moment. :Spin: As for my current snow-covered location, it is in northern Illinois near the Illinois-Wisconsin border, aka, the frozen plains of the upper midwest.

Cool Anthrax pic, btw. Is that a zoomed shot or were you close enough to stick your camera in his face?

fireangel: I guess the European visitors liked this area of the country when they first came here, much like some of the Native Americans tribes that did before them. Wisconsin has some German heritage too, especially Mili-wau-kay (Milwaukee). ;) Funny stuff about the translation. So what does "Schaumburg ichall et heiten" actually translate into today? Is it something hysterically funny that the old guy said that will make us all roll on the floor in laughter? :D

Naku: I don't think a blame game is necessary. Thanks again for posting your foto, and don't be shy about keeping us updated with more. =)

hehe thanx but I think we have enough snow in innsbruck for the moment, in the middle of the alps we always have snow ;) ... was different in vienna tho where it rarely snowed compared to here.
and also cheers for the comment on the anthrax pic, I guess it was a mix of both - zoom and being close, I like the way he sticks out his tongue  looks so funny hahaha

Wow. Awesome pics as per usual. Everything alright though? Not to sound arty farty, but these pictures say to me pain despair... (and yes! A dead leaf :p I love it).

Thanks, and yes, things are absolutely fine here :)
