This is the album that completely turned my guitar playing world upside down. All the chromatic madness made me go

I could just never really get into Chastain as much as I tried...I don't know why.

This is my guitar God from back in the day:

He definitely perfected the use of squeals!! Sadly, I'm not overly familiar with his work other than just checking out a few videos on youtube. I need to dig in a bit and check him out.

YES! Glad someone jumped on this idea, haha I didn't want to do it, I feel like I'm technically too young to start this up haha.

I think we needa give Jake E Lee some props. Underrated I think.

Paul Gilbert was mentioned but holy shit here we go. He has the best pick attack ever.

David Chastain is fucking nutso. Holy awesome haha.

I also wanna say Vito Bratta but I don't have any clips that I recall with ridiculousness. I just remember him ripping balls. He had killer phrasing too.

AND

I love how Lynch will like fuck up or hit weird notes, but he just doesn't give a fuck and keeps going balls out. It's so badass. That's something I definitely picked up from him. That, and I use my Pinky like a nutcase as well.

Even though this was more 90s you can not deny the Shred ability of our own James Murphy

I'll second Jake, so underrated by most people. Paul Gilbert needs no introduction, that guys a freak man, those hands belong on aliens!! I just ordered up a couple of his videos today actually, I'm scared . . . LOL

I've GOT to say I have ALWAYS hated that video clip of Jake E Lee on stage with Ozzy. Not because of the playing or anything, but because I'd punch Ozzy straight in the balls if he grabbed my hair like that. Totally uncalled for, unrelated to the show in general and overall just a dick move.

Paul Gilbert = the man.

James has always been one of my favorite players. :worship: Dude, your solos and guitar tone on Low amazes me, to this day the solos on Low and Trail of Tears are some of my favorite leads ever!

I haven't heard the songs on Convergence in a LONG time, thanks!!
