The official FIFA World Cup Deutschland 2006 Thread

^ Hehe well, the answer to that my friend, is by scoring two goals in the last minute of the second extra half.

Italy played really well, the team pwned Germany totally. Yet as usual, they didn't score all the chances they had, which were quite a few ye know.

The game was really good, although sheesh, that damn referee didn't call anything!!! Apparently he was in favor of the Germans, yet he didn't also call a few that were against Italy.

I mean, on one time a german guy kicked an italian, the game went on, then apparently as vengeance Totti literally run/jumped over another German player. He did call that foul, though it was for a red card for Totti.

The Germans also deserved a few red cards IMO, lots of kicks from behind.

Ah anyway, Italy managed to win, and that's waht matters most know, though the FIFA should really pay attention to which referees they hire, since 90% of the ones on this WC suck.

The goals from Italy were quite good, I loved the second one. For a moment there I thought Germany was going to score, then Italy counter-attacks, and...

GOAL!!

I was like . . . o_O o_O o_O .

Finally, lets see howtodays match turns out, my guess is that if France plays as good as they played against Brazil, they'll certainly win. Portugal isn't that good anyway, so the final will certainly be IMO:

Italy vs. France.

Tough to guess who'll win, let's hope Italy.

Avanti squadra azzurra!!!

Totti simply didn't have the guts to go for the ball when he saw the crazy German coming for it, because his ankle had just recovered from an injury. It seemed kind of funny, especially since the German tackled him hockey-like, but I don't see why it should have been a red card.

'A few'? :D It seemed like a pretty calm game to me, at least compared to Portugal - Holland. You should leave the penalty calling to the referees.

I'll never eat pizza again! *shakes fist*

on the other hand, you should. pizza is good for you, and regular consumpion can help you grow in strength and fitness. take the football team - they're so good because they had a lot of pizza in their lives. :p

i hate you. :p i had managed to forget about german pizza after 5 long years, but you come and rub it in my face.

I think the referee was a bit for Italy. I mean there were a couple of situations at the beginning where he could/should have booked some players (germans and italians) but then he just starts over with Borowski or who it was and books him almost at the end of the first half. Also if he gives a foul for Germany that was committed in the penalty area, where do we get a free kick on the verge of that area? I don't think that Italy deserved the win but that's how the game goes. As I currently am in Madrid, Spain, all the spanish people here were happy when Italy won. When we Germans went outside after watching the game disappointedly, a student said to me "Estamos acostumbrados" ("We are used to it"). I think that was very funny if you have a look at Spain's results in WCs. They always get kicked out in the quarter finals or so. Their best placement was a fourth place ^^
Now I learned to play football in Spanish. Now I know things like fuera de juego (offside), saque de puerta (¿o saque de meta?) (goal-kick) and so on :D

Italy played a great match, with typical tactics - they totally ignored the second half, the closer the end the worse they played. The Germans tried to play and score, they played well, but alas... Schneider should saw off his right foot for such a waste of glorious chance. When the extra time came, Italy totally changed the tactics and attacked the tired and surprised Germans like a pack of wolves, hit the post and the bar, the Germans seemingly recovered from that, but it was visible that the goal is in the air - and Grossos and Del Pieros goals were fantastic. Ive never liked the Italian team, but the fresh blood looks really promising - Grosso, Perotta played a great match. Camoranesi should be sent to some 6th league togeather with the other older players, maybe except Totti and Gatuzzo. Well, looking forward to FRA-POR!

Well, if your exiled Italogermans cant prepare a good pizza, maybe you shouldnt mock us, but learn from us, since we know how to export a good product ;)

Whats with Bloodred and the refs? This guy was good! He let the game go on and gave plenty of warnings, only issuing a few yellow cards.

I stand by my principles: german beer, yes; german pizza, no. The trade was probably taken over by second-generation immigrants who totally forgot about their roots.

I'm getting ready to watch the game, alone, in my living room hehe!
With some ice cream mioum! Will be a great game I am sure!
