not necessarily. it's really cool to play a fretless instrument...you can make a lot of weird tones out of it (like quartertones and shit). it's a lot of fun.


of course it helps if you're a guitar wizard, but you don't have to be one

I would imagine would have to be a guitar wizard to play a fretless.

It;s a little more difficult, yes, but most of them have markers for where you have to press to get the same notes as a fretted. the main challenge is pressing down hard enough to get a good sound, you need a strong left hand. Other than that not really.
