The Place to bitch about music I like that you don't

Yes. It was. Your sig is cool because Dio but fuck these songs are gay. There is a reason they are "uncategorical" and it's because it's fucking try-hard "look how different we are!!!" metal.

The only fucking thing anyone needs is Traditional, Speed, Doom, Black, Death, and Thrash. Everything else can go fuck itself.

well there are some good bands out there that combine different styles

bands like Therion have been doing crossover shit for years, and much of it is badass. mainly the older stuff, but the newer stuff has some good moments

the latest Therion was crap though

good is a relative term

please open my eyes and post some mind blowing genre defying Metal then
Nah I'm good. Also:

if I cared what people thought, Id try and please them

but Im not. Im moving on and posting shit, trying to share music and discover new stuff as well

do you want you ass kissed or something?

You obviously do care, or else you wouldn't try so hard to always come up with a retort.

I can see right through you. You wrap yourself in a tough-guy facade, to mask your feelings of wanting to be accepted. The hardened scab covering the wound.

well I was just showing you respect by responding and not ignoring you, but if all you want is to argue, find someone else

if you have no Metal to share, you have nothing to offer

Crossover bands aren't fucking "Uncategorical" you twat. Ever listen to Archgoat or Blasphemy? That is fucking Black/Death metal. It's when people come up with a genre like "psychedelic jazz with neo-folk/classical/groove metal" when it gets all fucking stupid.

Also, how old are you again?

Also what Yoda said tbh. A lot of this "genre-defying" metal posted is basically just an excuse to appear eclectic, intellectual or unique, and it lacks actual depth so yeah. I can respect it in the fact that they're probably only doing this music to snag bitties that are into that whole hipster scene, but that's about it.

regardless of why they do it, if I like it, Ill listen to it. Do you only listen to bands that deliberately sound like one genre and none other?

LOL, thats awesome.

Quite black-and-white thinking there. So because I view bands that deliberately blur the line between four or five different genres as pseudo-intellectual chaff, I must only like straightforward one-genre bands.

"LOL" is all I have to say.

I wasnt saying what your views were, I was asking what they were

Anyways OP, one of my favorite bands that falls pretty far from the norm is Dreadnot, a kvlt demo band that started as tech-thrash but were pretty far on the experimental side of things by the time they broke up.

I'm also in love with an even kvlter band called Absolute Zero from Ohio. Super hyper demented tech-thrash stuff, their most experimental demo isn't on YouTube but here's a pretty fucked up tribute written in honor of King Diamond:

Their eponymous song is so weird that it's like a metal version of The Velvet Underground's The Murder Mystery; a series of kind of arbitrary speed/thrash riffs with two different voices talking/screaming different lyrics simultaneously, maybe with a little bit of Rudimentary Peni schizophrenia mixed in.

@Trodden: I listen to music if it has depth and provokes intelligent thought (ie: if I laugh at it for being dumb or awkward, that is bad). If it doesn't, I discard it.

Those are the only qualifiers.
