The "post pictures of your car" thread

I just bought this car late last year. I'm telling you, if you got money NOW is the time to buy a car (and for dirt ass cheap):

05 Honda Accord.

That was my car, now that's my wife's car.

I drive a gray version of this (2000 chevy malibu):

Stupid turn signal has a short in it, so it's a crap shoot on whether it will work or not. about 60/40 as of late.

Oh man, I can't wait until I FINALLY GET MINE BACK, it's been 6 goddamn weeks; I ran the first of two consecutive yellow lights at a highway intersection, the second turned red (its presence didn't occur to me, I was in a hurry :erk: ), I tried to stop but skidded through it on wet pavement and slammed into an old lady's fender (at least it wasn't her ESP or Jackson yuk yuk yuk) when she pulled out in front of me, so I had to get the front end fixed (got it done at a shop where I go to college).

This took 3 weeks, I got it back, then discovered I had mechanical problems (unrelated), so I took it to my local shop at home (I was on break at the time), and asked them to also look over the body work - turns out the shop in my college town had fixed the exterior, but one look at the underbody with the car up on a lift showed that they had SERIOUSLY neglected the internals/unibody/structure :Smug: So I had to leave it at home for the corrective body work to be done, and also deal with the insurance company to get them to pay for the fucking corrective repairs (AKA nailing jello to a fucking wall). Then, I went home last weekend to pick it up, drove it around, shut it off, and discovered the coolant reservoir was overflowing  So I had to bring it back AGAIN, and take the bus back to school, so this weekend I'm going home AGAIN to finally pick it up for good (hopefully). Turns out the reservoir overflowing was just the result of the wrong pressure cap being put on the radiator...I hope :erk:

So yeah, I've been alluding to this in a few places, so there's the whole story - and I'll have pics soon, cuz I fucking LOVE my whip! (though of course it's not as nice as some of yours, cuz I'm 22 :D) Slash, I LOVE the Audi Quattros dude, very nice! And Pete, that's a sweet Holden, but tell me you got it with a manual! And that goes for you too Meister!

Man, I had a massive run of bad luck with my car when I first got it, batteries dying, me hitting fucking ice, fucking tyre exploding lol. Stupid shit... It's all good now, touch wood. She's a 6 speed manual  Oh, and I'm 22, too, but not a student :D

The problem in Germany is that it's fucking expensive to maintain a car (insurances, Taxes, TÜV, Gas)....
you can roughly estimate 300€ a month just for that.
so the actual Buying isn't the problem, it's the monthly (or 1/4 annual) costs.

I love my car.

But would I rather not have to entertain one? Sure!

But in the situation I am it would be a major pain in the ass not to have one at hand.

Ford Fiesta/ 150 EUR a month.

does that include occasional repairs etc so it get through the TÜV?

most people forget about that stuff because they don't have to pay it monthly, but especially with older/cheaper cars you'll need to think about possible repairs as well....

for 150€ a month that is NOT possible (at least not if you're using the car at all)...
I'm not only talking about insurance and taxes here.

btw...get your ass on AIM ;)

yes it is possible. but I do some repairs myself if I can do it.
the Ford Fiesta is a simple car, has a big rear trunk (good for equipment) and is generally very economical and saving ;)

I own one for years and it is more or less 150 EUR a month, incl. gas, repairs, TÜV, taxes ... TÜV is only every 2 years and I get most of my taxes credited since I use it for my job mainly. And I use it daily. I guess you could make it 200 EUR a month if I'd have to travel further distances on a daily basis.

I'm on AIM this weekend :D
Gonna help a friend to move places today so I won't be on.

since I'm italian I should have bought like all italian dudes an italian car... (ferrari, lamborghini, alfa romeo, lancia, fiat) instead I always buy french cars

peugeot_207_rc6.jpg

1400cc engine, 8 Valves, pretty reliable and it doesn't eat so much gas, but it's a bit slower to me compared to my old peugeot 206 version
the 206 version was almost same engine (1400cc 8valves) but was lighter I took it to 190Km/h lol and it made it, took a bit to get there but I did it!
with this one being heavier it's impossible

anyway another car I wish to drive is the tankferrari lol

ferrari_cingo.jpg

That thing's fucking sexy Mauri, I love the French hot-hatches! (even if that one sounds pretty underpowered ;))

And that Ferrari tank is ridiculous

And speaking of Italian cars, I think this could be one of the most beautiful things I've ever laid eyes on...

siggggghhhhh

Ewwwww too old :D I like 'em new and modern! (see: Brera, which I can only assume from its looks is the Italian word for "boner" )

The alfa brera along with the gt and 8c are bonerlicious. I can't believe I just used that word. I'm sorry.

Joe

edit... fuck it, I love the 159 as well but the mito can suck my dick because of the annoying advert

Old picture though - I've got 98% of the panel replacements done, the rear end has been rebuilt and the front suspension is in the works right now. I'll get some more recent pics up this weekend.

But it started as this:
