None of those names surprise me at all. They are all old players that tried to extend their careers or bad players that suddenly became good.

I bet Dan Duquette is feeling a little better about his "twilight of his career" comment now.

I read about half the Mitchell Report today. It's amazing how a vast majority of those names come from just two sources--BALCO and Radomski. He couldn't have been the only guy distributing the stuff. If there was a network like that with every dealer, the real numbers could be ten or twenty times what's in the report.

Nec, you were aware you were reading an opinion column, and not an AP story, right? It's obviously not straight news. I can understand if you disagree with the guy, but to get upset about him being opinionated is off the mark.

Opinion piece or not, his sensationalist drama is still nauseating. I can see if Roger Clemens killed his dog to have such strong emotions toward someone who, other than taking steroids and provided that he would have never taken steroids he would have been sucking his cock instead, hasn't done anything deserving of hatred is just pathetic and is obviously meant for an audience. I despise that kind of writing, especially when it's on reporting news and when it's featured on the Yahoo home page as news.

Regardless of his ignorant rants, the Mithchell Report doesn't prove anything, and it probably won't got any farther than it is now. I think the wisest move baseball officials and fans can do is just let it go.

Everyone who has taken steroids should be banned from baseball, period, and have their individual titles and awards stripped. Clean slate.

are you being facetious? if not then the same would have to go for every sports league including the nfl - in which case the entire league would fall apart because I guarantee that way more NFL players have used over the years than MLB players.

basically we need to keep them out of the hall of fame that is the most important thing.

No, the most important thing is to get the fucking junkies in the game NOW who are using them out of the game. And yes, this applies to all sports.

eh, i disagree i guess. i think they should still be able to play - their legacies are already damaged. it should be a policy like if you ever get caught using steroids or performance enhancing drugs 1 time youre not kicked out of the league but you are never eligible for the hall of fame. they also need to restructure contracts. players get these performance bonuses - they should also get performance penalties. if you get caught using steroids you lose X amount of millions of dollars, not fined 25,000. it would never happen but seriously, it would probably work to some effect. take away their money and the prospect of having a legacy as a great player. these guys are competitors. if no one takes them seriously it really fucks them up, do u agree?
