The Sports Thread

basketball has excitement. soccer doesnt. Soccer is all passing and running.
but no, its not a girls sport at all.

Agreed. Basketball, while not in the 'big three' of favorite sports, is great for the doldrums of February when theres no football or baseball. Same with hockey, but I'd watch that over bball anyday.

And Belligerant, life sucks...you don't know what you're talking about.

Well it looks like the Dodgers and the Padres for California. Being a Giants fan, I hate the Dodgers and would prefer if the Padres won the NL-west and eventually the NL.

I'm pretty ambivalent about the Diamond Backs. I'd just prefer a California team to win. It's a real pitty about the Giants; they have a bunch of good players, they're just a shitty team. Meh.

Tell me you actually think that all pro bastekball players go to college?
Most probably can't spell right.
All they care about is putting rims on some 15k golf cart.

Those new TB unis are terrible. I also thought the green was good. I didn't like Arizona's new ones. Too similar to the Astros' red, which I don't think is as good as the older blue and gold ones.

I enjoy basketball when the Bulls have a decent team. Basketball is weaker than some other sports in that a turn of events in the first three quarters of the game usually doesn't really impact the game. In baseball, football, or hockey, the critical points in the game can really be at any point.

OMFG YOU'RE A GIANTS FAN!!!

They're really looking up for next year though, with Ortmeir, Schierholz, Davis, Leis, Valay, Timpner, McClain, etc. Need a power hitter since I doubt they're gonna sign barry back. I'll be so sad though

Hah! Yeah I'd keep him as long as possible, his defense is cleaner than the immaculate conception

.230 isn't going to cut for very long, though

Well Barry's hitting is the only reason they've kept him this long, it's not like he's a superstellar fielder anymore.

You cannot get rid of the game's greatest player of all time. They have a bad habit of doing that, as Mays and McCovey all went elsewhere for their final days. Besides, Barry is still better than most. He just isn't as fast.

And wtf @ him not in the lineup for 6584 straight day. I wanna see him hit dammit!

innocent until proven guilty, the basis of American law.

EDIT: And if anything, he did them back WHEN THEY WERE LEGAL. MLB players have and always will cheat; there is no fucking 'for the love of the game' anymore.

That makes it okay?
