The Thread Where You Talk About Music You Like

A friend of mine got Bruce Dickenson's Tyranny of Souls sent to him through BMG, and since he didn't order it, he gave it to me. Sucker...
Seriously, this album kicks ass. It is better than (Maiden's) The Rainmaker, and is right up there with Accident of Birth.

well it WOULD be better than a fucking single release wouldn't it

perhaps the album you're thinking about is "dance of death"

yeah and tyranny of souls, while cool, can't even DREAM about touching accident of birth or the greatest heavy metal album of all time: the CHEMICAL fucking WEDDING.

Now Playing: God Macabre - "The Winterlong" - Spawn Of Flesh (Macabre End cover) [00:08/05:02]

this album is really good.

>_> Helstar - Nosferatu takes the title of Greatest Heavy Metal Album of All Time.

Good idea for a stickied thread!

I am returning back to metal after a 15 or so years vacation, and this thread will help me get up to speed with the new bands. Oh my god, when I heard metal we got our news from fan-zines, now internet is here and cool forums like this.

Anyway, my favorite metal bands and albums are obviously old, but here they are:

Carcass - Two first albums
Morbid Angel - Blessed are the Sick
Dream Theater - Awake
Anthrax - Among the Living

I got a lot of non-metal bands I have enjoyed since I left the "scene", if anybody needs a metallers introduction to electronica, pm me :)

I recommend Tvangeste (A symphonic black metal band with great balance between operatic and insane death vocals), Kekal, Into Eternity, Tourniquet, and also Screams of Chaos, but their music is soooo hard to find. And just an innocent step out of the metal genre, , Emilie Autumn.
