I heard Paradise Lost became influenced by sisters of mercy. I have been meaning to check them out. I'm not fully sure what too expect.

The last three Beheomth albums were pretty much pure death metal, and not blackened death at all. Vulture Lord are blackened thrash; think Sodom/early Kreator, but darker, heavier, and more aggressive. I am also a big fan of blackened death and blackened thrash in general.

Anyone here ever listen to Black Hole? They're an Italian Doom band from the 80's, but they sound also like a mixture of some Misfits and 70's horror films. Pretty cool stuff.

All of Emperor's pre-ITNE material is criminally underappreciated. It's hard to understand how stuff like the Emperor EP, WotT and As the Shadows Rise are so easily forgotten.

The Emperor EP version of Cosmic Keys slays the ITNE version, although I Am the Black Wizards seems better on ITNE.
