I've been listening to more old school death metal recently and I am beginning to realize why all of you hate modern death metal

modern death metal is shit with a few exceptions here and there

I'm inclined to agree with you. I am very careful when it comes to modern bands claiming brutality, because most of it's just heavy riffing with little or no songwriting ability.

the riffing doesn't bother me nearly as much as the horrible pig grunt vocals, and constant mindless blastbeats. Constant blastbeats make me want to pull my hair out

Has anyone else noticed how Demiurg's Breath Of The Demiurg is almost identical to Bloodbath's Resurrection Through Carnage at times. The vocals and guitar tone are extremely similar.

Yes. i actually like the album. never really noticed any similarities between the bands though.

It's not the bands as such, it's just those two particular albums.
