Ministry sucks, but the Isahn was pretty good proggish stuff.

Is it remotely similar to Borknagar's debut, which essentially succeeded it?

I wouldn't say that it succeeded it. Brun was working with an entirely different outlook in Borknagar than he was in Molested. For starters, the latter was Death Metal, while the former was Black Metal. They don't have many similarities at all, from what I can recall.
