Fuck, Emperor's "IX Equilibrium" is pretty fucking good. I just finally got it & heard the whole thing last night. Why do people on teh internets bad mouth that album so much??

Because the fact that it's grossly overshadowed by the two previous albums gives the impression that it's an inferior album by any standards. By itself, it's a damned good album, but the fact that the band has done so much better lets your disappointment affect your appreciation of the album.

Godless Beauty is okay. I really need to hear their first one before I judge its quality against Cemetary's other material, but as a death metal album, it's enjoyable.

This is a very true statement.

I just got around to listening to Infernal Revulsion's latest, I really like it. There's some element in it that I cannot describe, but it gives the album a really unique vibe, or maybe I'm just weird.

Either way, very solid stuff.
