hahah ... yeah, had one of those before. wore it through high school and part of college. looking back at it, them shits are heavy.

Shopping sucks. Pants are my nemesis.

Same here. Pants shopping is one of the most frustrating things I go through. Women who need long/tall length pants are pretty much screwed by most stores. I have to go to the tween store Delia's because they carry pants up to 36" in length. Last time I went there to buy a pair of jeans, I was the only customer there over the age of 15, aside from the girls' mothers waiting outside the dressing rooms. GUH. I felt silly.

Very heavy, indeed. It's absurd trying to wear mine to school. Can't even get my backpack on when I'm wearing it. But then again, maybe I'm just too cool for a backpack when I'm wearing that jacket.

hahaha ... backpack? with an MC jacket?

we used to have these super small blue binders, hard cover, almost like hard carboard/even wood :loco: ... perfect for doodling band logos ... you old buggers will remember them.
haven't seen them around for a long time.

the smaller your notebook, the more metal you were.

I used to use the plastic-covered trapper keepers (or whatever they were called). I'd slit the plastic at the bottom, pull the cardboard out, tape pictures of Iron Maiden, Crue, Priest, etc, to it, reinsert it, and be the coolest kid in 7th grade.

The biker jacket comes in handy on windy/rainy/snowy days downtown, where the conditions are intensified. Can't get to school without my backpack though! Sometimes you'll catch me with the biker jacket on, backpack on, and an umbrella over my head! I don't mind being awkward :goggly:

my A/C went out the other day. down here that can be a huge problem and expensive. luckily we have a family connection. here was his invoice for something that would normally cost about $500

haha, i remember those too.
not sure what kids use these days. do they even take notes? all i see is really fruity looking notebooks in target, etc.

I dunno about the kiddos but I just have a spiral notebook and a folder for each class. The all-inclusive notebook doesn't work as well in college, for me anyway.

Ah yes, canvas binders. I had some! I mostly used the kind with the clear plastic pocket on the front and back so I could slide in a band picture ripped out of a magazine.

I took my little brother metro shopping last week. consequently I also tried on various brands of pants at Macy's. Buffalo, Calvin Kline, David Britton, etcetera, all fell short of the glory of Levi's 569s (the only ones which allow my huge half footer comfort.. Do they even make pants that fit properly anymore? Every fucking pant I tried on rode my nuts as if I didn't have a set! I tried another 6 different brands on yesterday's excursion, same result. What the fuck is up with all this "sits below the waist" bullshit? Sits below the waist is a sugarcoated way of saying "tourniquet at the taint."

this page = :kickass:

I would do the same as Cara: cut out pics from Bass Player magazine and insert them into the plastic cover. Trapper Keeper was around when I was in junior high. I don't think I've been down a school supply aisle since 1991 - so I couldn't tell you if they even exist anymore. Shit...does *Mead* even exist anymore?

lol @ Jerry having a brother. What the heck? How did I not know this? I thought we shared everything here.

re: pants. For jeans I now swear by J. Crew. They're expensive ($100) but I use my student discount for 15% off and they are some seriously nice, long lasting jeans. I really only need two or three pairs anyway because it's so goddam hot here/I wear scrubs three days a week/I wear chinos or dress pants to clinicals.

cute pic Mike ... that jacket on Dis looks awesome. I just want to get a Slayer tee or something for Viki first  ... and of course take her to the playground with it.

re: Jeans ... LUCKY BRAND is what I can get my size easily in ... usually about 80-100 bucks, but can score them for 50 at outlet centers.

and dorian what bass players graced your notebook? Gene Simmons and ...?

Dis' first piece of clothing ever in her whole life was a Judas Priest body
The only hard rokkin shirts she has that fit her atm are Candlemass and Destruction but I work at a place that prints t-shirts now so when I stop being lazy I'll make a megaton of killerkool shirts. Haven't even gotten a First Ever Kool Outfit for baby #2 yet and that's close to way overdue.
