You know whats ridiculous? Windows 2000 pro still sells for obscene amounts of money. That's how much people loved it.

yeah i use windows 2000 on my main computer for all my music stuff, i'm ashamed to say this about a windows os but it is stable as a fucking rock. never crashed once. that said, it is a computer without internet access so there's no risk of security breaches etc. and also can use any old stupid cd-key

i was thinking of ditching Vista but i figured I should wait a bit for the first big service pack like usual and no one has really said anything about it

Just bought myself a new laptop which came with Vista. Fucking horrible. Thankfully there's an extremely cheap upgrade to Win7 offer, but I've gotta wait 2 weeks for them to ship me the disc. Been using RC1 on my main PC since early in the year and it's a damn fine operating system, probably the best MS has done yet.

So, I noticed this Shrinebuilder stuff came out without a whole heap of fanfare. Listening to the tracks now I can see it's not quite as awe-inspiring as had been suggested. Certainly doesn't kick me in the face like when I first heard Conference of the Birds. And the cover artwork is awful. But then there's this new Om album "God is Good"... anyone heard it yet?

How come you guys are always talking shit about Vista? That's what's on my computer. It computes things.
What are you guys doing that you need super-powerful computers and high-falutin fancy-schmancy operating systems?

Fucking geeks hiding under the veil of Odin Almighty!

These lads probably have hard drives laden with pictures of this magnitude.

Shrinebuilder definitely didnt blow me away as i was hoping, it kind of seems to be fragments of the participants individual style, rather than a more cohesive mix. listening to it you're like "ok heres the neurosis part, ok heres the om part, ok heres the blusey riff with wino soloing over it" i'll give it some more listens, but after a few im not too impressed. new Om already? i need to look into this...
