MAIDEN VS PRIEST
Priest were there before Maiden so they openned a lot of doors for that to get going. Priest were also pre-NWOBHM and were huge by the time Maiden put out their first album. Also Priest was the band that brough Maiden to America on the Killers tour.
Having sid all that I still listen to a hell of a lot more Maiden than I do Priest.
I'd say Maiden.

METALLICA VS MEGADETH
I was a huge Megadeth fan when the Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza line up was around. That was the line up that I saw first. After that they kinna fell off the wayside for me.
Metallica has a special place in my music world simply because of Cliff. I have enjoyed every single Metallica cd up to Garage Inc. St. Anger gets really annoing. The only thing that brings me back to Metallica is Trujillo, I'm curious to see what he brings to the table.

KREATOR VS DESTRUCTION VS SODOM
Destruction is the one I'm more familiar with so I'll go with them

VENOM VS MERCYFUL FATE
Venom has A LOT of albums I can do without, but I'll go with them.

RAGE VS GRAVE DIGGER VS RUNNING WILD
Pass

HELLOWEEN VS GAMMA RAY
This one is not fair since it's the same band.

BLIND GUARDIAN VS RHAPSODY
I might be the lone ranger that is gonna go with Rhapsody on this one. Yes they are cheese Dungeons and Dragons band but they are the best at it dammit!

CHICAGO POWERFEST VS PROG POWER USA
Prog Power USA is one of the most succesfull metal fests in the country and for that it deserves a lot of respect.
With this year's line up I think Powerfest is gonna have a lot of doors open on the upcomming years. Hopefully one day it'll be like PP, which would be a good thing since it's not a plane ride away from me.

- Maiden, prefer the vocals and melody lines.

METALLICA VS MEGADETH
- Megadeth, no question about it. More consistent long term and catchier to my ears.

KREATOR VS DESTRUCTION VS SODOM
- Not too familiar with Sodom, so I have to go with Kreator on this one.

VENOM VS MERCYFUL FATE
- Uh.............

RAGE VS GRAVE DIGGER VS RUNNING WILD
- Rage by a mile. Smoother vocals and more versatile, interesting albums.

HELLOWEEN VS GAMMA RAY
- Wow, this one's tough for me. Helloween BARELY wins this one, mainly because of the comparisons of the new albums. Helloweens kicks all kinds of ass and Gamma Ray's is not so good to me.

BLIND GUARDIAN VS RHAPSODY
- Blind Guardian in a fairly close one, but not so much you'd need a photo finish.

CHICAGO POWERFEST VS PROG POWER USA
- Prefer the shopping and CD buying in Chicago, but the music of Progpower usually. I'll go dead heat on this one.

Mercyful Fate, the songwriting was just masterful

Rage is kind of the oddball out of these three and also my favorite...Rage is one of my favorite bands of all time, they just write some amazing catchy metal tunes

1) Tankard is def as long running, but would not be fair to pit them against the biggest three German thrash bands of all time.
