I don't understand the greatness of this band.
Top 3 overated bands on this board afaict=Tool, Rush, Yes

lol go listen to some shitty metal band

close to the edge, period. the organ part about 12 min into the title track is possibly one of my favorite parts of any song ever

LOL @ lackluster, wtf albums are you listening to? theyre all awesome but ctte is my favorite, relayer a close second.

lol you arent gonna get any kind of real picture of Yes's music on the radio

for instance, on relayer, the single edit of sound chaser is 3:13. it's 9:27 on the album

:erk:

I dig Yes. I've only got Tormato and Relayer, but they're both pretty snazzy.

relayer is great, but people should get close to the edge and their greatest hits collection.

mountains come out of the sky and they stand there...

Oh dear lately all I do is derail threads :erk:
Oh wait, I also called NFU a dork and made some stupid jokes

The Soon melody from Gates of Delerium is one of the most beautiful ever. "Relayer" is first, and then CTTE for me. TFTO, is really a good album, if your willing to apply the time to really listen. There are pieces of it that are meandering. I admire YES for taking this on in 1974, simply for the huge scope of the project.

"Kansas at their best riviled Shakepere, and Einstein, and they were also the loudest metal group on Earth. This is not at all adequate repensentation for the greatest British Band Ever, Kansas."

"I don't listen to music, but if I did I would probably listen to Yes because their positive, life-affirming and probably Christian."

pure gold

I think I might be the only real Yes fan (by that I mean somebody who owns and loves most of their work) in the world whose favourite album is Fragile
