It's scary how good Therion is live. They certainly do put on a performance second to none. With 8 people on stage totally into it at all times and all the acting they integrate into their show it's completely overwhelming. I strongly recommend going if you're on the fence about it(on future dates that is.)

The fucked up thing is that there are really very few folks here that are into good music anymore & virtually about the only way to meet them is by going to the "ever-so-rare" good show around here then you'er still gambling on how the person got there... A lot of folks go see bands they've never even heard of or they get dragged to shows, ect. I don't go to many concerts, but I see that at ever show I go to.

Everyone now just follows the crowd without trying to find music they like, not what everyone else likes.

Therion are fantastic. I wish I knew of any other bands that had the same sort of style... but most music I find labeled "symphonic metal" seems to be more the Nightwish variety -- decent, but no Therion.

My favorite albums are Secret of the Runes, Lemuria/Sirius B, and Vovin, I'd say. The others are generally pretty good. I haven't actually listened to their first two albums, but I doubt I'd like them. Ho Drakon Ho Megas is pushing it as it is.
