Thermionik Amp Modeler Plugin by Kazrog LLC

So it's Friday the 10th here :p. Should I get my hopes up for a release today ? :)

In the process of getting everything set up. It will be another 6-8 hours. Thanks for your patience!

I have used your IR's since the first release and have done each upgrade since. I was a bit hesitant to upgrade to 4 with only a few amp models, but your honesty in this thread made me feel comfortable that more are to come, hopefully sooner than later! Get me some Boogie Mark II-IV-or V amp models so I dont have to get my V out to reamp and I will be a happy person!! Not much impressed with my other sims of this amp model.

Start mixing a new, way heavy metal project next week. Look forward to giving this a try out!!

Thanks so much for supporting Recabinet from day one! That's awesome! There will definitely be some Mark series amps in future amp packs. I have a vintage Mark IIB (with graphic EQ and FX loop mod) in the shop getting new capacitors as we speak, actually...

In other news, unfortunately, everything that could have gone wrong today in setting up the installers and server DID go wrong, so the release has been delayed another day. Announcement here.

Very sorry about this, but I promise it won't be much longer!

Some of the posters here (and on other forums) remind me of the lady in this ad:

OK, it may be a little while before the emails go out, but in the mean time, just log in here using the username and password we gave you when you placed your pre-order, and you can download!

PS - the demo version won't be ready for a few days. Sorry for any inconvenience, but the pre-order folks get to use this first. :)

Yikes...the plugin interface is way too big for my macbook pro, and it's taking up 15% of CPU even at the lowest setting. The X50 consumes 1.5%. The GUI on the Thermionik half is totally non-responsive as well. :/ I'll see if I can self-diagnose.

What host are you using? The plugin window is 800x810 pixels, but if that's too tall for some folks, I could easily split the plugin into two tabs in a future update if the screen height is insufficient to display the full window.

Next-level tube modeling does come with a fairly large CPU hit. The modeling technique is completely different from any other plugin. On low quality mode, and with the buffer at 256 samples, it should be usable and playable on just about any modern Mac or PC though.

You gotta try this.

No garbage mids, no thin/edgy sound ; try turning the bass all the way down or the mids all the way up ; still a natural sounding tube amp sound.

I hope that at some point Kemper owners will share their experience.

In any case, a very happy customer here.

Reaper on an early 2011 MacBook Pro with Mavericks, tried both 32 and 64 bit. Now it seems like when I float the plugin some of the Thermionik buttons work. I had the same non-responsive or minimally responsive GUI problem when I downloaded the Revalver 4 demo several weeks ago, but no other plugins have given me trouble of any kind. Really weird.

I think this would actually be better, have the cabinet on its own tab. I think most people would tweak the amp and cabinets separately.

I loaded up a preset and it went straight to 8x oversampling. Maybe that's pushing his CPU harder.

I only had a few minutes to play with it, but was able to dial in a good sound quickly. Since I only got to try two amps I'm betting I'll be able to dial in a few more good sounds. :headbang: Being able to turn off sections of the plugin is just so much better for my workflow. (I usually stick an EQ between the preamp and power amp. :) )

Hmm, fully tested in latest Reaper in Mavericks, VST, AU 32 and 64 bit...

Tried switching to full screen mode and now everything works! I guess the physical size of the plugin window was mucking up the Recabinet GUI. Still too tall for my laptop screen, but I'm sure there's a way to scroll or something.

edit: except the very top preset buttons, probably because it still isn't 100% on the screen.

Yikes, yeah I will have to do something about that. I can put in an auto scrollbar for the time being even...
