...that some albums need a certain mood to hit a chord.
When I first got Last Fair Deal Gone Down it wasn't doing much, only listened it 3 times thru.
Now I am a bit down and somewhat bored, been up 3 hours cos I can't sleep and figured I give it another shot, now I don't know why but it sounds really good and descriptive of my current mood.

yeah i know exactly what you mean, one day the album is ordinary, then one day...BANG you cant believe its the same album, LFDGD took about 5 proper listens to give me that effect, and what more can i say except Katatonia are fucking awesome.

Yeah, the same for me, listened to Teargas before I bought the record and I thought it was great, but when I got the record I was a bit dissapointed, but now I think it`s one of the best records out there....

i definitely don't see it as being 'forced' to like the new stuff... i heard the new stuff, i loved it, as simple as that... and if you hear it and don't like it, what's 'forcing' you to like it? if you don't like it, that's fine... don't listen to it... personally, i like it, of my own free will, and i hope they keep it up... but honestly, if you don't like it, don't 'force' yourself to, just say 'damn, i dont like this new stuff... too bad.' simple as that.

LFDGD is a bit of different album from, the only other Katatonia I been able to get, Dance Of December Souls, which I liked the first time I listened to it.
When I first listened to LFDGD I was feeling in high spirits (no, not drunk  ) and I think the fact I also got 3 other albums at the same time kinda distracted me.
Now yesterday I wasn't feeling too happy and decided it's the perfect time to listen to Katatonia and what you know, suddenly all the lyrics kinda jumped at me, saying 'hey, you know this feeling, right?'
Awesome album, but definetly need to be in a mood to get into.

its a shit when we are fans and are kinda of "forced" to like the new stuff.

Well, I don't feel "forced" to like A Fine Day To Exit, for example, yet I consider(ed?) myself a fan. Go figure ;)
But perhaps it wasn't meant like that...?
