K, I've heard it mentioned around the boards before...

Will the people who believe it is so, explain why the hell they think Thrash is dead?

are you calling it trash to make fun of the music, or making fun of the silly europeans who actually call it that? wooooo.

if 1st: =(
if 2nd: =)

Because anything decent produced over the past 10 years is a rehash. It's like punk, punk has been dead for years, the movement is over. Doesn't mean I still don't enjoy all my old thrash albums and even some new ones (Exit To Eternity & Lethal), but it's all remnants of a bygone era.

Thrash is dead, long live thrash. Whatever.

It might be dead to people whos main taste in metal isn't thrash...but to "thrashers" it is still huge, and in fact on the increase. Theres plenty of bands that are new + sound unique (to me).

hmm, some that come to mind that ive been rockin latley would be

Dekapitator
Gehennah
Fastkill
Ammunition
Toxic Hollocaust
Nocturnal
Merciless Death

haha, i couldn't beleve it when i learned that some euros ACTUALLY call it Trash metal, and don't know they sound stupid...even with songs with "Thrash" in the title ALL OVER THE PLACE.

SEE, SEE, that's what I was talking about, lurch.

i know you are right ... i've seen it too.

Dekapitator
Gehennah
Fastkill
Ammunition
Toxic Hollocaust
Nocturnal
Merciless Death

LOL ... those are the silliest sounding band names this side of Destroyer666 :tickled:

Toxic Holocaust fucking slays. With any luck I'll be seeing them live in a few months. All the bands Tully mentioned (besides Fastkill and Amunition who i have not heard) are excellent Thrash.

norway has a great black thrash movement!

aura noir
audiopain (i just got in the two reissues im putting out 12 for both!)
nocturnal breed
inferno (they are back and fucking insane... i just got in the 7" i know its whoring but i will list it soon on my mailorder. its a fucking necessity to have this 7" in my honest opinion the best releases on osmose were inferno's)
and recently Vesen has been a killer thrash act from norway too.

all of these artists are on the new Uberthrash double 7", the last one sold out within a month. its something they release every year for the Uberthrash festival in norway held the day before the inferno festival starts!

Yeah, even I, even though I'm not a fan of thrash metal, think Aura Noir and a couple of the other Norwegian bands you mentioned there are pretty top notch. And I'm not saying this just because we hail from the same country.
