TNR

What you have to worry about more than that, is getting too used to the rough mix version. Soon we'll have Dan's final mixed version and you know it's going to sound different, and it's going to seem weird. Paul and I do this almost every time hahaha I've basically been refraining from listening to the rough mix much for that reason.

And, as you said, by the time the album comes out, we (the band) are going to be sick of it! Or at the least, it's going to seem like "old" material by then :\

I hate that! I always end up going back and saying well, I liked that one better, or I liked that mix better. Ha ha ha! I can never decide what was better, in the end, you have to just accept that this one is the best, otherwise you will never be happy!

Well, trust me, I'm pretty certain that any mix that Swano does is going to be the best mix, for sure haha. But what happens is you get so damn used to hearing it in the rough mixed state that it's really odd to hear it any other way...at first. Believe me, I go back and listen to the rough mixes for TPHD now and I don't miss them. I'm more than happy with the final, mixed and mastered, version of TPHD. I'm sure I'll feel the same way with TNR.

What is most pleasing though, is that the rough mixes already sound so good, very heavy and full, that I can imagine how much better it's going to sound when it's completely done. We should be hearing Dan's mix very soon hopefully.

So any news on when this baby is gonna be released?
Here's what Paul (and Larry) said in the "New ND CD title inside..." thread: "Count on Q1 of 2007." I'd quote him on his explanation as well, but that would almost be a double post. :saint: So check it out on page three of aforementioned thread if you want. :)

With any luck, we'll at least have some sort of samples or preview track(s) available sometime in the relatively near future.
That sounds sweet. Although I hope they will be full tracks rather than samples. <shivers> Personally I'd even prefer one full track to several samples. Then again if the latter enter the scenario I will not be able to stay away from them anyway. :erk:

Basically, it's a no win situation because you have some people who'd want an entire track to preview, but then there are those who will say that one track isn't really enough to gauge an entire album's sound and quality by, so they'd prefer to have shorter previews of more tracks, and so on....

Ultimately it'll come down to what both we and the label think is best when the time comes. Usually one song is put out in it's entirety as a preview. We'll see.
