Some might not even consider them metal, but I think they're just as metal as any other prog metal effort out there. And they're definitely underrated in terms of how much they're discussed. A very sweet band if you ask me though.

Rate their best record till date if you know them. Also.. opinions please.

I don't mind some of their stuff, but I never really got into them. I wouldn't call them metal though - they are more or less like a more modern progressive rock, I'd say.

One thing that annoys me are many diehard Tool fans. Knowing that I'm into metal, they are always telling me that Tool has one of the greatest drummers, and their vocalist who's looked upon as some sort of a god, can 'scream' better than any metal vocalist. Or how their music is without a doubt the 'trippiest' thing out there, and lots of silly arguments....

However, nothing fails to irritate me more than are some Tool fans who've clearly devoted too much of their life to hard drugs, who think every second of music this band has ever recorded is in someway linked to some mass conspiracy.

I remember hearing about a fan being heavily convinced their Laterus album was meant to be a soundtrack to Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion of the Christ. Need I say more.

Only album I've heard is 10,000 Days, and I've only listened to that maybe 2 or 3 times. I've always meant to check out more of their stuff, but just haven't got around to it yet.

I have not really listened to TooL in awile. I've heard songs from 10,000 Days and did not care for any of it and a good portion of Lateralus. I notice lately listen to A Perfect Circle-mer de noms, but have thought about looking for my older TooL cds.

1. Ænima
2. Undertow

AEnima ftw. But to be honest I've lost complete interest in this band. I'll throw on AEnima or Undertow every now and then but Lateralus and 10k days bore the hell out of me. It's the same shit over and over. I listen to A Perfect Circle more than I do Tool.

They're o.k. My girlfriend loves them,I've been buying her all their stuff. They definitely have some trippy videos. She looks great in their hoodie too.:)

I love Tool. Aenima and Lateralus both kick major ass.
Aenima > Lateralus > Undertow = 10,000 Days > Opiate

I also consider them metal.
