Top 10 all-time favourite Metal albums

[Slayed Necros]

I was obsessed with SotLB when I was a teenager. I overplayed it, and then it kind of got left behind in the sea of harsh, raw black metal I was listening to in my early 20s. I guess I've come full circle - it now sounds as fresh and potent as ever and I love every second of it.

It definitely has peaks and troughs for me. Night's Blood, Unhallowed and Soul Reaper are my favourites. I think The Somberlain is more consistently great and hits higher peaks.

Just admit to yourself that Deathcult is the best The Chasm. You know you want to. Procession is the other acceptable choice. The others do hit peaks as high as these two, but aren't as consistently mind blowing imo.

Nothing in this world or any other.

It's really sloppy first-wave black metal with this amazingly murky sound and the best worst guitar solos you've ever heard. Honestly it's a fucking retarded album and I don't know anyone who likes it as much as I do but every time I listen to it my love is reaffirmed.

Interesting opinion. I'm honestly not as familiar with the album but there isn't a single moment I don't love on Awaken the Guardian. It's about as perfect as metal gets.
