Dissections "storm of the lights bane" is very excellent indeed. Close to one of the best ever. The somberlain was good as well. The last one was kind of meh tough. It wast even good enough to buy. Major dissapointment.

On Hammerfall I like the two first but their masterpiece to me is the debut "glory to the brave". I think they largely lost their edge after "legacy of kings" though.

Well heavy metal often has cheesy lyrics. I dont mind, its a part of the genre. The "hearts on fire" song was from when Hammerfall had lost the edge though.

This is obviously opinion based. Everyone will have there own opinion about what is the best. Mine are:

1. Metallica - Master of Puppets
2. Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
3. Megadeth - Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?
4. Metallica - Ride The Lightning/...And Justice For All (It is a toss up).
5. Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss

I could probably think of 100 different albums that I could replace those with (except MOP, it is my favorite album of all times), but that is the 5 that I am feeling the most at the moment.

I like your "almost" choices better haha, but I'd go with Hammerheart for Bathory, Something Wicked...from Iced Earth, and Pierced From Within from Suffocation.

Never saw what was so special about the ATG album. The others I love.
